| Good to see a nice machine once in a while and welcome! Normally, under these circumstances, we would like to see the usual "bread and milk" image - basically a bag of bread and a milk container with your name on a sheet of paper placed on the car as proof. |

| this c5 i no longer have. also my fiance is lactose intolerant so no milk lol but i can take pics of my current c4 and c6 maybe later today if the weather turns around with a sign with my user name. |

| Corvettes are a good time, I'd be lying if I said I don't want to give one a proper go at the track. Hell, a C5/6 Z06 is on the shortlist if and when it comes time to replace the Evo. |

SpaZ06  Still has to beat out an S2k and an E46 M3 when I get down to making the decision, and that's if I ever decide to actually move on from the Evo. |

| Not sure why you would take either of those over a vette. They respond great to mods, incredibly cheap to insure (corvette museum will give you full coverage for $250/year if you have a garage and second car) regular insurance for me is $100/month with 500k and 100$ deductible. | Insurance isn't much of a concern to me. The big reason is that competition isn't just about power, and while the handling of a Z06 is certainly nothing to shake a stick at, the M3 and the S2k are simply better in that aspect. |

| i would say an m3 is about equal, but s2k cannot handle that well. i have driven all 3 and the s2k was a let down. |

| The big thing to consider is tires, if they weren't all on same or at least a similar class of tire then you didn't get a fair comparison. Though I will admit, the stock alignment on the S2k isn't great, but dialing in max camber on the stock adjustments helps a ton. Also, the gen matters. The AP1 is decidedly better in that category, the AP2 is just uninspiring until you start messing with hard parts. I was able to keep up with my car (on its previous coilovers) being driven by a friend at about 8/10ths on track while myself wheeling his S2k on lowering springs and blown shocks without braking a sweat. Was having a conversation with a passenger the whole session. Going fast in an S2k requires balls though. They don't handle in their truest form until you're at the limit trail braking and forcing them into some pre-apex slip angle and then reeling it back in for track-out. I've driven 3 at various levels of prep, and was impressed with every single one at the limit, including the one that had complete neutrality dialed into it between the coilover settings and massive front bar. But I think we'll leave the discussion from here, because I'm well aware of the strengths of the C5, having both competed myself and helped support guys competing against Danny Popp in the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car. If there's anyone who shows what those cars are really capable of in streetable trim, it's him. |
