MAP Proving Grounds shots!

My buddy Erik's car on Saturday, I rode along with him on Sunday and he was booking it on the comp. course, so much so that part of the wiring harness for his headlight fell into the serp belt. Still managed a win in his class by a couple hundredths.

As a bonus, this shot was taken at a 1/2 second exposure, way longer than what should be humanly possible to hand-hold:

Please Spaz, don't be so modest. You can do anything. Anyhow, another excellent round of pictures. I love the sun set that you caught. The cloud cover makes it simply beautiful. I imagine that the weather in Minnesota is really nice right now. Or maybe I can totally be off. derp.gif

Well, the average person can't hand-hold anything under 1/50th without it blurry, as a friend of mine demonstrated when she stole my camera for like 10 minutes last night, none of the shots came out and all were under that speed.

Damn near everything I took before the sun went down was lower shutter and came out fine, I don't know how I pulled it off in all honesty. Surgeon's hands from all the caffeine maybe?

Regardless, I still need lighting equipment and better lenses. That's what's holding me back right now.

I took quite a number of shots of that car, that was the best by far. Those wheels are super rare too, don't ask me what they are, but someone once offered the guy $10k for them and he turned it down.

They look like Fuchs to me. 930 Turbo fitment can get up to $5k.

Yeah, my buddy Mark's Talon 'vert is awesome. He needs to finish up with some bodywork on it, it was in storage for 11 years before he dropped a motor in it and put the Talon panels on this spring. He bought it new in '98 and was the first person to ever swap the AWD drivetrain into a Spyder. That car's got one hell of history.

The motor let go on the dyno though, he pulled it apart yesterday and figures it a total loss, rods are bent, bearings are toast, so out goes an 8 year old built motor that was in 4 of his cars and who knows what's next.

It's their shop car, and they're a sponsor, so they can technically bring whatever they want. They also had their drag Evo there as well.

Yeah, he's going to fix that. He still has to drop a new motor in first.

That car's awesome, he went 9s at the Muscle Car Shootout last weekend with more in it, but completely destroyed a built t-case in the process. It's always something with that car.
