The term "rotary" as used in these forums, refer to a type of internal combusion engine which uses one or more rotors instead of pistons to create energy. Use the search function to find more info or go to

a rotary engine is also placed in only a number of cars [rx7 or 8's for example]... in case you didn't know...

Some rotary trivia:
Did you know that GM, Mercedes, and Citroen once had plans to release rotary powered cars? GM almost released a four rotor MR corvette in the mid-seventies, but GM pres. put the project on hold while they fixed emission problems, never restarting it, he retired a month later causing the project to fail. The only other manufacturer to successfully release a rotary powered car(pre-mazda) was NSU, who collaborated with Dr. Felix Wankel to make the NSU Wankel Spider.

the oil crisis of the 70's also contibuted to the other companies not releasing their rotaries.

Nope, always have known about the all mighty rotary. My uncle is a rotary nut, and as far back as I can remember, him and my dad would always joke around about whats better and stuff
