I used the the pressure tester but everything seem normal and check the dip stick if there milky oil and nothing and no white smoke is coming out of the exhaust. I have a feeling It could be the head gasket but not sure. Its a 96 civic ex 4dr sohc No check engine light |

What happened to me was the plastic radiator tanks had split off the metal radiator. So many heat/cool cycles had just popped it off. I knew it was leaking, I just couldn't find the source, till I saw a little bit splashed onto my block from down below. If your radiator is fine under a pressure check, look at all the hose ends to make sure they're not leaking, and if it's not that, it's pretty much going to be the head gasket, thermostat housing or something similar. If you're not seeing or smelling fresh coolant and not leaving puddles, it's probably a partially blown gasket, is there a sweet smell to the exhaust? |

And you totally didn't answer my question. But yeah, at that rate you're either burning or leaving puddles. | ||

If the gasket is blown should I just replace the gasket or just swap the engine or maybe just sell it because its just not worth the money to fix a $2k car This post has been edited by SilviaSlider on May 12 2010, 01:43 PM |

If you know what you're doing well enough to swap the gasket, you might as well, you'd see where your problem is that way as well. If your gasket looks fine, maybe the head is warped a little, check everything with the appropriate gauges while you have it off. |
