I figured it needs it own thread. Image size reduced, original size: 800 x 600. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. I bought it this way a couple of years ago planning on it being a point A to point B car and not planning on doing anything to it. I knew it was turbocharged one of the main reasons I bought it.... A couple of years later following the "strict" rule of never replacing things unless they were broken. I ended up with this into it. Engine Diode Mod Gizmodo EBC Greddy RS 3" full exhaust Full Emissions delete Hybrid Oil Pan HKS Intake BKR7E .022 ECS lightweight pulley kit Suspension R32 Control Arm Bushings Energy Suspension Dogbone Mount Koni Yellows OE Sport Springs Powerflex Race strut mounts Re11s 205/50/15 Interior Rear Seat Delete Spare tire Delete Cheap cd player Autometer boost gauge Monster Floor Mats Exterior Custom scratches and dents and many stories to go with them. I'll try to update this as I can post a few photos not necessarily in any order and try to explain them as I can till I get caught up to today. It'll probably eat through a couple clay bars to get it cleaned up decently enough to safely accept any sort of compound. Also, in before the new RE11s rape your new UPGRADED strut mounts. Wanna go for a cruise? |

I know you put more than that on them since Friday. Considering you went from Firestone, to Fox's, back home, then to work and back the following day, that was over 100 right there. Naughty, naughty. And LOL at the mounts, my cruise route did WORK on those. |

I had a GTi VR6 (Mk4) for a whole 2 weeks before I got rid of it. The electrical system on these cars is a nightmare. | ||

IDW Regular Member Group: Members Posts: 218 Member No.: 38,805 Joined: Jul 27th 2012 Location: Twin Cities | Honestly, Its kind of weird they feel slightly vague, I might bring the tires up to 33psi - 35psi. The rear feels a tad bit squirrely under braking but outside of that I still love the tires. They feel so awesome going into corners at double the speed I used to and I haven't hit the limit of the suspension yet. On another note insurance cut me a check for the hail damage on my car. Going to go get some other quotes see if what they wrote the check for will for sure cover the damages. The brokeswagon is going to be slightly less broken again!!! For some reason though the check is made out to me and the credit union my loan is through so I am not sure how that is going to work The electrical stuff is a blast I get to pick which light bulbs I can live without |

I also figured out that the squirming under braking is ABS threshold. Now that I know what it is its kind of nice to have some easily recognizable feedback. and because there hasn't been a pic in a while.... Image size reduced, original size: 3264 x 2448. The idea is to extend the trunk past where the back seats used to be and make it a level surface. I need more materials... |

IDW Regular Member Group: Members Posts: 218 Member No.: 38,805 Joined: Jul 27th 2012 Location: Twin Cities | Swapped out plugs finally today gapped them down to .020 this go around. I Also got tired of fixing my Hallman every couple of months when it would rattle loose and I would have to do like 20 pulls and get out of the car pop the hood and tighten the thing down a bit more. Seriously I zip-tied and tightened the crap out of the locking nut on the thing and it would still rattle loose. I have had this Gizzmo EBC sitting around for my 7 and it some how magically happened to get into the VW. I was honestly really surprised at how easy it was to install I soldered two wires in and done. I did a handful of pulls adjusting duty cycle and gain and left it for the evening it pulls way harder than the MBC ever did. The nice thing is the Gizzmo setup has a closed loop option so it helps maintain the boost level just a bit longer. Image size reduced, original size: 2448 x 3264. A friend bought it and is already taking over the fixing of the brokens he's been texting me nonstop and is oddly excited by this car. I hope it lasts him a long time and he has fun with it. |
