Request Title - PM Mods Group: Members Posts: 340 Member No.: 23,826 Joined: Mar 31st 2007 Location: Update Profile | You guys helped me out a lot when i built my computer 2/3 years ago, and now my bro needs help building a computer for gaming & 3D modeling. W/ a budget of approx. $750 (w/out monitor & acces.) , is there any advice you guys can give (in terms of brands, compatibility of parts and what not)? i have been out of the loop w/ computer tech. |

IDW SIMPLETON Group: Advanced Members Posts: 1,168 Member No.: 17,668 Joined: May 7th 2006 Location: Mandeville, Jamaica | I'd say get an Intel based build - i5 or i7 - and some decent RAM - Mushkin or such - and run a 64bit OS like Win 7 64bit. In terms of boards it depends on your preference and on the features..............maybe something that has USB3 to future-proof the build, but if you're just going to use it for work you don't need to get something that's non-integrated (unless you plan to play some games on it in whatever spare time). Your primary things are CPU for crunching, RAM for workspace and hard drive. I'd prolly suggest getting at least one SSD. Others may come in and suggest different brands such as Gigabyte, Asus, EVGA or others but staying within the budget may not be so hard.
