Reading is magic! Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,601 Member No.: 30,700 Joined: Sep 24th 2008 Location: Philippines | No, seriously, This is for a research paper I'm doing regarding the Factors of racing games that affect consumer interest in them and in turn affect the profits garnered. 1.)What is your base motivation for playing? 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? ( Try not to put answers that are your fault; i.e. "I lost my card") 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? The study is a cross reference between players of MMT3DX, ID5, BG4, and NFS Carbon. If possible, I'd like as much input on this as the forum can provide; the more data I have, the more accurate my conclusions would be, in theory. Thanks for taking the time to read. |

Anime fan 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? Likes->Meeting other players with similar interest. Time attacks. Dislikes->Poor machine maintenance. Not getting similar gameplay as Japanese. 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? Enough to remain competitive. 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? Small player base, game getting unpopular. 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? Yes. Unless game physics not appealing to me (V4). |

I had a friend in middle school who was the son of a professional rally racer. I dreamed of becoming one myself, someday.. I still have that dream, but for now I just have to be satisfied with playing IDAS and MTDX... 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? Like: I can imagine myself being a racer, pro or otherwise.. Dislike: actually a rather expensive, time-consuming, hobby of mine.. 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? As much as I could save from my salary, without making me broke.. 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? The possibility that future installments won't allow us to save our progress anymore, or can only save for a limited amount of time/space. 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? Yes please. Almost forgot: the same reasons are also applied to MTDX. This post has been edited by McKwack on Oct 21 2009, 05:57 PM |

Initial D season 1 has pull me into racing games. Been playing NFS series, Colin Macrea's XX, mario kart 64 etc after that. 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? Likes->Time Attacks competitions, VS battles with Friends. A good time to get aong with others of the same interest. Dislikes->Perhaps the money involve. 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? I just spend any amount and not look back. 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? game getting unpopular. 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? Yes. |

1.)What is your base motivation for playing? I enjoy the thrill of driving, and driving games provide safety, and the thrill, albeit unrealistic, and lacking several things that real life offers. 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? I like that it has many roads and includes my own car in my real life colour. 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? Enough to purchase a home version if a home version were released. 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? Any biasing of certain cars over others. ( Try not to put answers that are your fault; i.e. "I lost my card") 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? Yes, especially if they include ways to simulate reality a bit more (g-force, steering and pedal feedback) | ||

Apart from, of course, being a huge fan of the Initial D anime/manga series, I consider IDAS as something that can help me relax and cool down. 2.)What do you like and dislike about your game? I like the fact that I can call it a surefire recreational thing for me to get away from work-related stress. I somewhat dislike the thought that I'm spending a lot on the game, yet I'm still way behind in terms of times compared to the top players. 3.)How much money would you be willing to spend if X Upgrade happened? It depends on the upgrade, basically. If it's a big one, like ghost battle and/or Bunta Challenge, I'm willing to spend as much as possible as long as we're not starting from scratch after the upgrade. 4.)What would make you not want to continue playing? The primary thing that would make me being an inactive player and/or completely quitting the game will be the need to focus on earning more money and putting other more important priorities in life since I have decided to become inactive with the game when this year ends. 5.)Do you look forward to future installments of your game? Absolutely, esp. if they can bring back the other things like Internet Rankings, Bunta Challenge, Battle Level system, etc. As long as I am a fan of IDAS, every new version/upgrade will catch my interest to some degree. P.S. hmmm reminds me of my still-unfinished thesis... >_< This post has been edited by brian_infinispirit on Oct 21 2009, 08:37 AM |
