i tough it would be helpful to post my friends guide on this forum. here it goes.

By: Christian Dean Dacanay. Chrissy.D_D@hotmail.com

I know all this infos by friends from Japan and around in Montreal. Also i've been doing research about ID4 around the Net and Forums.
This guide is serious, this guide run is Battles ''BOOST OFF''.
During GAMEPLAY you might NOTICE THINGS ABOUT YOUR SELF,CAR,PARTS,DRIVING STYLE and even MAPS.
This Guide may help you, things might be wrong about the infos[Thats Normal].
*FEEL THE CAR,FEEL THE TRACK,FEEL THE CORNERS,FEEL THE SPEED.
*You may realize things on this Guide.
*Watch the Initial D Anime it helps you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Info's about the Car's WEIGHTS.

Light: DownHill is PERFECT. Corners is GREAT. But UpHill IS HARD,HARD GETTING SPEED.

Medium: Very Balanced no comments about it. For the GUTTER RUNS il mark[**].

Heavy: Going DownHill pretty fast but going to the Corners kinda hard. Not good for Gutter Runs. But Straightway is good, also for UpHills.

Very-Heavy: Going DownHill and going to the Corners REALLY HURTS. Not good at all for GUTTER so dont fall into it.
Perfect for Straight ways and UpHills.

THE CARS ''DRIVING WHEEL''

*[Some infos here are real in real life], {some are for InitialD} [{FOR BOTH}]. LOOK AND READ CAREFULLY!

Infos:

FR stands for [Front-engine, rear-wheel] , [{Drives Wheels runs from REAR}] , [{Easy for Drifting}].

FF stands for [Front-engine, Front-wheel drive layout] , [{Wheels runs from FRONT}] , [{Easy turning,Rear easily hits the wall *Cause it slides alot}]

MR stands for [mid-engine layout] , [{Wheels runs from REAR MASSIVELY!}] , [{Makes car faster but crazy handeling}]

AWD stands for [Four-wheel drive, 4WD, 4x4] , [{Wheels runs from all wheels}] , [{Car is highly griped}] , [{hard to drift}] , {GOOD IN WET CONDITIONS}

+Christian: ''Running all four Driving-Wheels feels different in ID4. *You will notice*''

+Christian: ''Running FR in all maps feels great, Downhill is good but Uphill is kinda hard to get speed''

+Christian: ''Running an FF on WET isnt good unless you got the skills for it. Playing BOOST ON WET is okay. FF on UPHill is kinda hard getting SPEED''

+Christian: ''Running an MR kinda feels weird on maps, MR on WET isnt a good idea it's actully worst than FF on WET, Perfect on Straight Ways''

+Christian: ''Running an AWD Feels GOOD on maps. BUT! On turns *break* alot until you can actully turn it perfectly.''
''Remember like i wrote on the Guide: AWD is HARD TO DRIFT. At least it's good in WET and UPHILLS, it's just DownHill kinda bad for AWD''

Racing ''Strategy''

[BOOST ON]

Racing versus an opponent, well always have a Strategy. While playing BOOST ON dont mind letting her/him pass you at the start.
BOOST recovers your speed just like an ''Aura'', whoever is at 2nd place always have the Aura[Boost]. The Aura helps you get a lot of Speed to catch up.
When you pass her/him the person will now have the Aura. *Whoever is last gets the Aura*.
In my opinion at the start of a race BOOST ON let the person pass you. What ever you do is make sure you can keep up with the person, and ALWAYS stick right on hes tail.
While your having the Aura and your on his tail it's for sure you may pass him but in my opinion dont pass him and keep on hes tail.
If you know the map perfectly try imagining a percentage of the map, once you've reached around 80~85%[Close to the end of the map] Start passing her/him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cars in Tracks

Cars in Tracks [''Winning''In percentage of: 30%~50%~70%~80%~90%~100% ] Require: --Step7--

NOTE: ALL Cars at Step7, Any Cars could be ''EQUAL'' KEEP IN MIND.

30% CANT KEEP UP.
50% ''BodyParts problems''/''WET problems'' // CANT KEEP UP. .
70% ''BodyParts problems''/''WET problems'' .
80% Driving Techniques Requires[Breaking,Shifting,Timing].
90% Driving Techniques Requires[Timing-Accuracy].
100% Skills Require[Timing-Accuracy].

*Moding cars can change your Driving Styles and also the -PERCENTTAGE OF THIS GUIDE-.
''STRICTLY'' even it's 100% does not means you can win 100%, Skills still requires.

About Maps:

Lake Akina[Easy] Nothing much about it.

Myogi[Normal] Myogi is a good play to take care of your: ''Turning'',''CounterSteer'' , ''Braking''.

Akagi[Hard] Akagi is a challenging map, takes place of more: ''Speed'',''Turning'',''CounterSteer'' , ''Braking''.

Akina[Hard] Akina, morely: ''Speed'',''Gutter Runs[FOR LIGHT CARS]'' , ''Braking''.

Irohazaka[Hard] Irohazaka is a good map to train your self on: ''Timing'',''Turning'',''Braking'',''Accuracy'' , ''Jumps''

Tsukuba[Expert] Tsukuba is a map to train on: ''Timing'',''Turning'',''Braking'',''Accuracy'',''Gutter Runs[FOR LIGHT CARS]'',

And more importantly trainning on Tsukuba try trainning yourself on sticking beside the wall. ''NO BUMPS''

*!!!!Important!!!!* : I only added the infos Lake Akina and Myogi because it's esay to understand.
Akagi,Akina,Irohazaka and Tsukuba are hard to understand with all the cars in all condition and UpHill and DownHill.
But you'll certainly know things. By looking ''lively''.

i don't quite get the percentages, seriously... for it to be a real guide, there has to be things like car guides, basic course descriptions, gameplay instructions, etc.

it would be best to refer to wolf's ID4 guide, that would be more sensible...
