I was doing some searching and found this

http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=731

This means that this is basically a P4 with 1 gig of ram running linux. ALso I found this

http://www.segaarcade.com/pdfs/initiald4/id4-manual.pdf

This means the game is just DVD. If that is the case then if I get my hands on that dvd along with Montvista Linux, should I be able to load the game? Also I wonder if it is possible to get the logitech G25 to work instead of its hardware. Has anyone ever tried this?

Good luck getting that disc and circumventing whatever kind of copy-protection is on it. As we're talking about an expensive hardware machine here, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of combined hardware + software protection as well. Either some kind of unique hardware code that each software disc is tethered to, or some kind of USB dongle key.

I also doubt that there are Linux drivers for the Logitech G25.

But by all means, if you pull it off, let us know. laugh.gif

And why is this in the ID5 section?

techinically possible really..

but is it possible to put the game in the machine?

reason being the controls and stuff would be different.. not to be negative but i dont think it would be that simple..

unless ur a programmer.. i seen a hack on Initial D ver 4.. and it took them almost 1 year plus when ID5 is coming out to release the video of the speed hack..
