not sure but apparently I voted in this thread already o_O since the new patch (1.5), I like V4 way better. Basically everyone is just about back to square one. Not having PC is nice (i never knew how to use it anyways) and the oversteer is MUCH nicer. I actually like it a lot.

about PC.. that's another reason I did not make the change to ID4 when it came out. The reason being I drove a real car well before I ever touched Initial D arcade and as such I am used to braking with my right foot. With the PC technique you really need two feet in order to do it correctly.

Shmuck Group: Members Posts: 8 Member No.: 29,915 Joined: Jun 28th 2008 Location: Update Profile | From what I read, for those who say Version 4 feels more realistic, and is laughed at..... why? ID4 is more realistic then 2 in the following ways. - Who in their right mind drives into a corner, at any track racing shifting to 3, then back to 4 then back to 3? Eraser and TST is not realistic at all! I drove in a few drift events here in texas, and you most certainly dont do that. At most, 3rd to second take the corner. Dont get me wrong 4 is only alittle better but nothing close to real, but it is more realistic then 3. - Granted 4 does make every car slide out, including FF,FR and 4WD but, having to actually use the brake in almost every application makes it more realistic. (1.5) - And maintaining a line in V4 is just as important as it was in 1 2 3. Just some points IMO. Dont hate on those who say 4 is more realistic, but if you think 3 is closer to real life then your opinion is your own, i wont argue with that, ill just fetch in my two cents. |

The cars to me also handle a LOT more realistically, and since they took out the understeer lock, the cars seem to react a lot more realistically than before. Hit the gas in a turn when you're going just a tad fast? you lose traction and slide into the wall! Or turn to hard going into a fast turn, and the rear end loses traction and swings out hard |

Cal - Bay Area | I haven't really played V4 so I can't really say much...Gosh...I think I'm probably the only loser who hasn't really played v4. I played once and it was an ok experience. But one thing's for sure, no more TST or eraser. haha... Worked extra hard on those to get a decent time and better line. Nah, I just don't have the time to go out and play it that's all. |

I enjoy Version 3 far more because it was more technical. Eraser and TST was part of why I liked V3 so much. It was a technique that took a good deal of time to get down at the beginning. Then applying into your lines just made you a better Time Attacker(IMO). The best analogy as to why I like V3 more than V4 can be related as to how many people love Smash Bros Melee more than Brawl. It was in fact, more technical. The competitive Melee crew(for the most part) hates Brawl because it is less technical. No more Wave Dashing or L-Cancelling. You can easily say that this is like the equivalent of Eraser and TST. Those are my thoughts. Although if Version 2 was here. My vote would have gone there. |

Even games like Battle gear 4 are NOTHING like a real car. If you are worried about realism, go drive a real car, if you want to have fun, play Initial D (Version 3 of course XD) |

(take note that the speed is realistic too, your speed can only go up to 100+ in streets) which is WHY braking like waayyyy early is so irritating. anyway the bottom line is games are fun cos we can do stuff we can never do in real life |

Urgh, no. The main thing I hate about Gran Turismo is it's TOO realistic. Like, the game is so realistic, it's not even fun! If I want realistic driving, I'll take the car out for a spin, but if I wanna play a game, I'll stick to arcade physics of Maximum Tune and Initial D.
