i picked up the logitech driving force pro (i think, the PS3 wheel with the glowing center cap and red knob on the wheel) and I love it. however, it is entirely too sensitive for this game; turning the wheel approximately 15 degrees in either direction engages a full turn, and coming from a minimum sensitivity setting for my arcade stage cars is making it very hard to play with.

is it at all possible to turn down the sensitivity? not the force feedback, but the actual degree necessary for a full turn.

What steering sensitivity is good? Does it affect how hard you have to turn the wheel or how much you have to turn the wheel to complete at turn? Is the steering wheel, the driving force gt in my case, suppose to lock at a certain degree when turning left or right? Because mine turns 450 degrees both ways, and I heard that it locks for some games at certain degrees.

Does anyone know if IDES is compatible at all with the Fanatec Turbo S racing wheel? I mainly got for 360, but it also works for PS3. Can anyone think of any reasons why this would not work with IDES? I know the clutch pedal probably won't function, but what about the shifters (has both a 2-way and a 6-speed) and gas/break pedals?

I kind of want to get this game, but only if my current wheel is compatible with it.

I am not really sure about the Fanatec Turbo S racing wheel, but I know other wheels like the DFP, DFGT, G25 and G27 work with IDES. unsure.gif Sorry..

Sequential and H-Shifter will work with IDES; yes you are right, the clutch doesn't work in IDES. Both the gas and brake pedals will work.

According to the company's website, it should work fine.

Edit: Nevermind, that's for the GT2... I'd imagine they'd both work, but I'm not 100% sure.

Well, just got the game.

Fanatec wheel works fine. Was surprised to see the 6-way shifter actually works. Clutch pedal doesn't work, but I kinda expected that. Force feedback is pretty lacking though. Just kind of a general rumble, doesn't seem to portray what you're doing realistically like in Forza for example. Also the wheel is only recognized 540degrees, not the full 900, which is disappointing as well, but you get used to it.

As far as the game goes, seems real arcade-y, even more so than what I remember playing in the arcades (v2/v3). So it's kinda weird. What camera angle do you guys use? I thought 3rd person would be the best for an arcade drifter, but the camera turns so much when you countersteer back and forth. I find myself doing a lot better in 1st person.

Yeah, the game's FFB is nothing like it is in Gran Turismo. But even still, I have it turned down even lower than default. I think I have mine turned down almost all the way, actually.

I usually always use the first person angle in racing games anyhow, but with IDES it seems almost necessary to use it. The third person feels really awkward when you're trying to counter-steer. I'd be really surprised to meet anyone who does better with the third person view in this game. K0oanz and I were messing around with it a few weeks ago, we were doing races in the rain at night with no headlights and third person view, haha.

Didn't I say the H-shfiter would work? awesome.gif I think I am psychic haha.

Wait, when you say that the wheel is only recognizes 540 degrees, do you mean that you have to turn the wheel that much to make a turn because for me it usually only takes about 90 degrees or so to complete a turn.

Not really, its not necessary. A full 360 should be enough to handle corners such as Akagi's "V" turn, or Irohazakas hairpins. Well I just tried the Fanatec 911 Carrera wheel at a friends house. He also just received the sequential shifter pack along with an extra 6-speed shifter and they both work smile.gif . Which is great news since I just ordered the Fanatec GT3 rs v2 wheel. Hope that is kind of the same as the 911 carrera wheel, but less noisier wheel and FFB.

Yeah, in Version 1-3, the cars are more of understeering, unlike 4-5 (In which IDES, is based on IDAS4) they prone to have more oversteering. Not sure about IDAS6AA since I have never played it.
I find 1st person the best IMO, since you have better view on when to attack the corner to the inside as possible. Thats just me though...

I mean that the game only recognizes 540 degrees of full rotation, nothing more. Opposed to Forza which recognizes the full 900, hence feeling more realistic for turns. So turning seems a little too sensitive in ID. I turned down the sensitivity in the in-game settings to help a bit. You get used to it, it's just different from playing Forza.

And to the people ordering Fanatec wheels - you won't be disappointed. The Logitech G25 series always looked awesome, but I wanted something that could be used cross-platform. And for that Fanatec is really your only option. It's pricy, but it's also top of the line.

Sorry to bump for an old thread. But yeah the Fanatec 911 GT3 RS V2 and the Fanatec Carrera 911 wheel works in this game. Even with the clubsport pedals. The in-wheel degree rotation sensitivity works flawless too. I have my carrera wheel on 120 degress and there you go, imitation of the wheel of the arcade. But of course the wheel is not as smooth as the arcade cabinet's wheel. For the shifters, both H-shifter and sequential shifter works very good too. Clutch doesnt but the arcade doesnt have a clutch, so it shouldnt matter...

I know this works because my friend owns a 911 GT3 RS V2 wheel and I owe a Carrera wheel.

Question, how do you turn off force feedback on the wheel in this game? I'm using a G25.

I know sensitivity is in the options menu but I have not seen any way to switch the feedback off but I heard its possible.
