I just got my season 1 & 2 in the mail like a week ago and want to start re-watching them. I have put some thought into your question before and I think in a zombie world the animals would be infected if they got bitten or maybe the virus flying around but for a TV show I think it just makes it to much of a trouble.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a zombie dog come out of no where in the 2nd of season 3.

Judging at least by the horse and deer we've seen getting nommed on screen, not to mention the fish and frogs Amy/Andrea/Shane caught earlier in season 1, I don't think that's really an issue. Could be wrong though, Darabont likes to throw curveballs (like completely changing the plot between the GN and the TV series, for starters).

I believe that the zombie infection is stemmed from virus. Viruses don't really discriminate who or what they infect. Animals, humans, what's the difference between the two? Speaking of which, there are different types of zombies right?

The kind that affect the dead and reanimate them from the grave, like old zombie movies. And the kind that are like in Resident Evil. I'm hypothesizing that theses are the similar to Resident Evil zombies, sans the mutant crazy powers they get and the virus in the Walking Dead takes effect after you die.

If you saw later on when she and, fuck, forgot the older womans name, but they were talking about how she was getting good at 'being a mother'. Possibly signalling she's trying to be the next wife/lover of Rick, or just she's simply saying she was glad he came back, since he is the leader and the father of that baby.

A main part of every story is a love interest for the protagonist. It does not have to be another person (even something as simple as an idea works), but it has to exist for the character to be developed properly. Would truth behind the speculations surprise me? No. But at the same time, there were hints earlier in the season of her having interest in Carl. So I guess we'll see?

1 - Daryl is a badass, there is no way they're going to kill him off. I do not care what you say. As for Merle, I think Daryl knows his older brother is kinda a ass hat (excuse my language). My thoughts are that they get in some deep trouble with some walkers and then Daryl will finally prove his worth to Merle and some reconciliation will take place and both of them will return to the prison to rejoin the team. Mhm! Either that, or Merle dies and Daryl gets really mad/sad/angry and goes back to rejoin with the team.

2 - Beth is the name of Hershel's younger daughter. And I think she is filling the role of the baby's mother with Lori gone, with that I think that she is also trying to fill in the gap of a 'wife' with Rick. I know a lot of people were happy to see Lori kick the bucket, I was personally really sad about it but that's beside the point; with her gone Rick is kinda really unstable. A lot of people were happy to see Rick and everyone else come back to the prison in one piece and Beth is no exception the peck on the cheek caught me off guard too. We'll see where it goes from now on though.

3 - Ha, wasn't the phone conversation in a previous episode enough to prove that already? He misses his wife and I personally believe that he's beating himself up for not being there for her when she was going through labor with the baby.

4 - I don't want to agree with Glenn being a good leader, but alas... I have to agree. Glenn has an even head but at the same time he doesn't really know how to talk as well as Rick. While his ideas are sound--for the most part--I thought it would be foolish to go back to Woodbury and try to stage a surprise attack on the Governor. The Governor isn't stupid, I have a feeling he's expecting something like that.

1- Poor Carol, I know she's worried about Daryl (who isn't?). But out of everyone, I think she's the most worried. Does this mean that there is something going on between those two?

2 - Who the hell is Oscar? Axel (prisoner with the 'stache) keeps talking about him but I have no clue who the heck he is.

3 - How do you feel about this new group of 4 that Rick was talking to at the end of the episode? Do you think they'll join up with everyone?

Me thinks it was Morgan. The Governor said some thing to him about gas at the end of the episode didn't he? Also Milton is too much of a wuss to do some thing to stand up against his friend. Although he does have the inner workings of someone important in him. Who knows? My money is on Morgan though.

Ok I am confused about this answer, so the theory of Morgan finding the pit and used gasoline on it to destroy it (not to confuse with Tyrese saying "Come again?" or what was the governor talking about). I would be surprised if Morgan actually went that far out to burn those zombies away from his base of operations. I don't normally post here just because I read the comics.

Wait up. Who was the Governor talking to at the end of the episode? It wasn't Morgan? Morgan is the father of Duane from the first episode of the first season. He came back for a surprise appearance in the episode "Clear" which really surprise the hell out of me when I saw it. Haha, I forgot to mention that.

Anyway, I think I was talking about Tyreese, because at the end of this week's episode ("Prey") the Governor asked them where they found the gasoline, which I assume they used to burn the pit. But then again, I have no clue. I'm waiting on the answers to be reviled in next week's episode hopefully.

Isn't the governor at Woodbury though? Or did he fall off the face of the planet? Anyway we need more zombie killing action. If they stay at the prison, nothing exiting is going to happen. They do have a nice set up though! I like the council they have going on.

I feel like all the people they took from Woodbury aren't going to make it to episode 3. Just my thoughts. There is no relation to the show and the graphic novels anymore huh?

I agree, they probably won't last. Call me morbid or cruel, but I actually kinda LIKED that they used one of them (I don't remember his name) simply as character development for Beth. That's huge for me, they're really hitting their stride, story-wise right now, and can totally take liberties like that. If you shotgun the show, specifically last season and this episode, you're like, on the edge of your goddamn seat right now.

As far as Woodbury, a takeover would be easy no matter who is left. They've got the weapons and the manpower, no question.

Well, you are talking about TWD verse, so of course it's some sort of sabotage, could be an adult, ORRRRR if you think about it, it could be one of the kids/teens, since they were talking to them like they were still alive, giving them names,etc.

I just want to try to figure out who the guy/girl is that killed the two 'sick' people, i'm sure it'll be a "wut" moment.

But the person feeding the zombies was inside the prison, I don't think the governor would be able to sneak into the prison at night just to feed rats and sneak back out. Makes no sense at all.

They were close enough to the fence that they could have been just put through the chain. Remember that the crowd wasn't at the same place on the fence the whole time.

Tyreese needs to get on the dead train because he's really not doing anything for the group aside from alerting the walkers to them and being stupid.

No kidding. I cried so hard when T-Dog died. He was an awesome character. A little annoying in the beginning but he really learned how to carry his weight in the end right until his final moments.

I certainly bloody hope not, they're a bunch of tools. Really liked all the little nods in this episode like the candy wrapper, it was a cool way of showing that they're on the right track (dohoho).

As for the windscreen, it said 'LET MOMMA BE', so some poor bastard probably locked that walker in. A kid, by the sound of it.

Oh the humanity! Sometimes I forget that those zombies were once normal people with families, the show does an amazing job of reminding you. That's what I love most about it all. I don't watch Walking Dead for the zombies, (I'm obviously lying) I watch for the way people react to the zombies. I think this is a realistic portrayal of the zombie apocalypse and I love it. The writers are ruthless when it comes to gut-wrenching and killing off everyone we know and love; and I love it. But if they kill off Darryl I'll be pissed.

It sucks that there is only one episode left of the season. I don't think I can wait till the next one starts.

Rick came into his own for sure, 100% willing to do whatever he needs to do. I saw the Terminus trap coming a mile away as well, but I kinda feel bad for them now with our "new" Rick. That line at the end, it DOES need to be time for Season 5.

Am I the only one who felt like there was a little too much talking in the season finale? I mean the Terminus thing was obviously going to happen so I wasn't that surprised. What threw me off was all the stand-offs and intense staring competitions between the baddies and main cast. Now I'm not really pegging anything on the plot development here (there was tons of it and I loved that part!) It just that the deaths in this episode seemed so distant and not important. I mean, thankfully those claimed douche bags were offed, the random glasses guy who had his face eaten off by zombies (I watched on Talking Dead that it is character development for Rick and I agree), and one--JUST ONE--guy from Terminus died. Overall, it just seemed like a mid-season finale kinda episode... I'm half expecting another episode next week. But I know it won't happen... I can't believe those guys want us to wait till October for season 5. The next episode needs to come now!


Now what I think is interesting and what I want to offer to the discussion is the death of the glasses guy. While it is a zombie apocalypse and its not rare to see people die every day, I think that it serves as a very important piece of character development for our main man Rick. In the beginning of season 4 he retired the sheriff hat and became part of the council of leadership at the prison; simply put, he stopped being bad ass. And earlier in the series Rick went out of his way to try to help people in need; he let a few of the prisoners survive, he took in the survivors from Woodbury and kept them in the prison in the gap between seasons 3 and 4, (season 4 episode 1 specifically) he happened upon a woman in the forest to tried to feed him to her zombified husband. Was at this point (season 4 episode 1) exactly when Rick decided to stop helping people?

He started to not exactly mistrust everyone, but he was less open to letting people into his inner circle groups. See the season 4 finale; when he and the others were herded into the train car, after the nice reunion he saw Captain Amuricah AKA General Ford and Eugene. He didn't really seem to welcome them or at least it came off to me that there was a little bit of awkwardness to their first encounter. I feel like General Ford and Rick are probably going to get into a confrontation in season 5. Seriously, I think I can write an essay on Rick's development as a character based solely on season 4 because so many things have happened! But I won't bore everyone. Anyway, lets talk! We have time to sit around and speculate on where the show is going to go. So are there any thoughts?

RIP Bob's leg. Although I don't know if I want to feel sorry for him. I didn't like him in the fourth season and I'm still a little wary. This Father Gabriel character is sketchy as hell too! I think he's working with the Terminians to catch people and eat them. I did have a hint of sadness when he was looking at the picture and I saw that female walker that they found in the food bank.

I missed the first few minutes of the episode because I was wrapping up dinner up in my sister's apartment. Did something important happen? I mean, Daryl had a black eye or something right? Was that from the previous episode?

All things considered, I'm not sure if this was addressed, but are there different threads for show-related and comic-related stuff? Considering that so far their content has deviated wildly from each other due to certain characters being alive in one and dead in the other (lol Carol, Glenn and Andrea), I'm starting to think that the show has become a spin-off based on the comics.

I was less thinking that and more "so when is this fucker gonna die- oh, there he goes."

Dawn on the other hand, makes me want to reaffirm my usual desired course of action when dealing with people like her, which involves sticking something long and spiky up their ass. Their whole community in general makes me want to shove things up their asses actually. If you're gonna do something good, do it because it's it's the right thing to do, not because you want something in return. "You owe us" is going to be the most enraging thing I'm gonna hear for this season.

It wouldn't surprise me if Commando Carol's "hospitalization" at the end of the ep is just part of a plan to destroy all of them in the end. And when it falls, it will be just as sweet as watching Terminus burn.

And I dunno, mullets are generally pretty horrid, but that's probably because of the people that wear 'em in most cases.

I think Eugene realized that Abraham was going to try to go through the walkers one way or another and they wouldn't survive, and he knew Abe knew they wouldn't survive. Abe is desperately trying to fulfill a purpose in this world to put his not-too-recent past behind him and would much rather die trying than give up.

Not sure how many people watched the talking dead, but in the flashback scene - those people were his neighbors and friends, and, they raped his wife while he was out on a scouting mission. In trying to protect his family by eliminating all threats, he scares them away - and they end up getting eaten.

Now I understand his gung go conviction, and why he apologized for being an asshole to Rick. He put Eugene's survival and mission of getting to DC above everything else in his life - including Rick and the gang.

Also, was that body in next episode's preview Beth!?!?

Nah, definitely not. As my favourite (kinda sweary) recapper put it, that was a dumb as shit move to pull, of course it was gonna end badly. But hey, there's always the second half of the season to make some real progress.

I am so glad that I wasn't the only one who thought this when watching the episode.

Although I have been reading everywhere that it was a huge tear jerk for a lot of people, the effect was lost on me. Only because I was stupid and didn't check the showtimes and I watched the last 15 minutes of the premiere. Then Better Call Saul came on and I got mad and turned off the TV. When I checked an hour later, it was Talking Dead and then they said something about Tyreese dying. I saw the poll question that asked everyone if Noah was bad luck for the group. I honestly expected 80% saying yes but it was actually split 52% and 48% yes and no respectively. I got super pissed and then turned off the TV again. When I finally got it right, I already knew basically what was happening in the episode.

The episode had a good balance between thought-provoking and walker-smashing. I liked it, but the spoilers I got probably ruined my experience. At least the show is back. For now.

Seeing the talking dead; it says he's a clean cannibal, but maybe that was as a running joke or something, but maybe he was part of the group from before, who knows. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
