So N1 and I were deciding who would end up posting a build thread first,
between him and his Integra, or me and my Cressida.

Guess I'm making one first, though I feel like it will take a lot longer to finish compared to his

Here is my boat, purchased from a guy who was "staying" in Sacramento
and was effectively a teenager owned car.

Of course, being naive I didn't fully check the car over. Cue a bunch of issues that popped up the moment I tried to do basic maintenance
(4/6 spark plug wires actually working, missing thermostat, secondary cooling fans don't seem to work, rod knock), and it proceeding to just sit on my driveway.

As to why I'm making the thread now, yesterday I decided to trip up to Sacramento to source an engine.
Came home praying my daily wouldn't die from the weight and offloaded it to my front yard, for the time being.

Lacking money to splurge heavily, I ended up deciding on going a 2JZGE, the non-turbo variant of the ever popular motor of Supra fame.
I figured that if I end up getting a 2JZGTE (Turbo variant) down the line, at least all the mounts should be the same
as well as having the front sump oil pan and hardware to swap over and make it work correctly.
Though it would also mean I would need to add/relocate the power steering fluid reservoir among other things.

And here are the shots of my attempt to carry it back home in my daily.

I'll probably be pretty slow with posting anything new,
hopefully I get things running before the end of the year.

Pfft, you call that thing a boat? It's barely full size, much less boat status.

Still love it though. wub.gif

From the depths of the necro-sea, some new content
In the span of two years, I have managed to:
Not get my Cressida running at all, with the engine at 90% assembled and transmission ready
Sent a deer flying with my old daily LS400, effectively totaling it
Picked up a 1993 Lexus SC300 with a factory 5 speed manual to replace my old LS400 as a daily

Promptly blew the head gasket within a month of ownership, after finding out the lack of maintenance esp. with cooling
Replaced effectively 80-90% of gaskets on the engine, installed ARP head studs, replaced broken/leaking hoses
Replaced clutch and surfaced flywheel, created a new exhaust leak that I've been too lazy to fix
Installed BCRacing coilovers and some meaty 18x9.5 et22 wheels, after a bit of struggle on front struts.

And that's where I am at now. Still needs an alignment, still needs to have wiring harness safely tucked out of the wheel well since I feel like hiding it within the fender will only take me so far. Also need to have a few more things done before I plan out a track day in my "new" daily, but partially for safety partially for comfort with safety gear.

Good stuff! I feel like Soarers probably make underrated dailies.
