Hello, im just curious to know how to make that effect on pictures of cars, you know what im talking about, is something like this:

look the lights, is a kinda of "motion blur" effect but how to make this effect in the RIGHT way?? blink.gif blink.gif

The term most people use is "Trailing Brake Lights", not "Initial D Lights". And it's easy. Slow Shutter Speed.

i wrote "just as initial D does", i didnt know the correct name of the effect, (when i said "initial d lights"??) ermm2.gif

and i mean how to do this with software edition, including pictures with stationary cars....

is a fact that initial d uses this effect too often (very good to see the braking times) rolleyes.gif

grab teh pen tool and draw out your trail. fill it in with red, then depending on your back ground, you can either just lower the opacity or change the blending settings. you can also duplitcate that layer and Gaussian blur it to add a glow effect.

if you want to do it for real you need not just a slow shutter speed (which would depend on vehicle speed), but you would need a second curtain flash; a flash thrown at the end of the exposure. what that does is capture the light trails, then freeze the car in place at the end with a flash. most high end P&S and pretty much all DSLR cameras have this option somewhere in its menus.
