I had a lot of fun with that game I never could get the rally battles figured out though.

yeah the rally part of it is extreamly difficult took alot of pratice on the hokkadio run to get it down but basic arcade rally driving applies to it brake to turn gas to make the car go, e-brake to crontrol the understeer smile.gif that should help u quite a bit plus the tires made a difference as well tho i hate the rally aspect it does make the game that much harder for setting up your car smile.gif iv gone most of the game with my first AE86 levin. aside from the ura rokko course i bought a EA21R (suzuki cappichino) for that course and for wet battle it made a huge differnce in both those aspects!

I actually picked up a ps2 over the summer and picked up txrd 1 and 2. I owned 1 when it first came out, but 2 was brand new to me because when that was released here I moved over to xbox 360. Initial D is what made me buy the first one and I was hooked on that game until I got rid of my ps2. I still play every now and then when I boot up the ps2 along with the dfp to get that nostalgia back.

yeah its a great seires i wish grp would do one more and call it a day for newer systems i.e ps3 x360, they did import tuner challange for xbox but it felt unfinished compared to txr3. itd be nice to see one more good game from them

Actually it's Kaido Battle 3. Kaido Battle 2 was never released in the US, sadly. It's really too bad... supposedly it had better physics and the Sierra Cosworth. sad.gif

TXRD2, or Kaiddo battle 3, is the reason my nickname in this forum... it is my favorite game!

I started playing with a AE86 levin, untill to get my FC and my favorite course is Akagi, hehe.

I used to do time attacks using the "record challenge" and put the results in website ranking official Genki, when he was still in the air.

I have some videos of the game posted on my Youtube channel, I managed to finish it after a while and then went back to playing, but my ps2 does not work anymore and I had to leave. But yesterday, I was playing on ps2 emulator, because I knew the end of the manga and wanted to run again with my FC.

Never could get the hang of drifting, up to now.

Is it me or was there only 2 tracks in that game?

No, you gotta unlock the other tracks by challenging the other racers at night in the PA (parking area). Then, the Slasher appears, and challenges you. When you beat him, you unlock either a bunch of cars and/or the other tracks.

Yup, they're the same. Kaido was released in the US as TXRD2

A bit sad that Genki isn't around anymore as far as I know, I would love a new Kaido racer or an Shutokō Battle game.

Too bad I suck at drifting. At least I don't always crash in every race, unlike a certain person in a black Skyline. wink2.gif

I once build a 1000hp Skyline in TXRD2, after the first turn my brakes where already gone. laugh2.gif

Is drift 2 pretty much the same as 1? I have the first one but didnt really like the fact of doing those day races before heading to the PA at night. It got too repetitive. I have all the txr on ps2 those are fun. Import tuner was fun on 360. Wish they made one for ps3

I feel a lot of modern street racing/open world games should look into this game for ideas.
