Well... as listeners of my show know, I have this collection of a bunch of random Japanese people singing a song that's almost 11 minutes long, made up of 33 different songs taken from Japanese Anime, video games and pop culture.

For those curious, the video of it is here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=CdfYNE7jlCY

Anyway, I was thinking, was there a karaoke version? There had to be, since so many people were singing it... and sure enough, I found it. So then I got to thinking... back in the day we used to have some people sing (badly, or good... or both) along with stuff and it was good times.

So why not try this?

If you wanna be part of it... awesome! I've uploaded an archive which contains the MP3 of the video I posted above, the karaoke version, and the lyrics. Feel free to try your hand at it... the more people I can get to participate, the better! If you're curious, just check out some other videos on YouTube of it... none of them are filled with awesome singers. That's not the point!

The point is to have fun. And I think this can be fun.

So here you go!

NicoNico Douga Medley

EDIT: For whatever reason, the text file of the lyrics isn't displaying correctly. So here's a link:

Send me the mp3. The one you played the other night. If this is the same track, I am so in.

I would be glad to participate into this lovely huge karaoke. Of course i've heard this on the radio and it was quite epic actually. I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.....mind my squeakyness on the high pitches since my high pitch voice is horrible. I will also try my best not to stuff it up like all the other covers i did.

Sweet! Three already! laugh.gif

As another note... if you watch the video you'll note that people come in and out; not everyone sings the whole way through. So if there's a part of the song you want to do (like the Hare Hare Yukai part or the Marisa Stole the Dangerous Thing part), then you can do that too.

If you want ins, IMing me is a good start. My IM is on that button under my posts. Or if you already know how to record, then feel free. I'll just detail the process really quickly:

-Make sure your recording setting is on "Microphone."
-Open a recording program of your choice (I use Audacity).
-Have the lyrics ready if you need them, have the song open (but not playing yet).
-Hit record in your recording program.
-Hit play in your player and sing!

The recording will then be only your voice, which you save as an MP3 and send over. Once everyone's recording is collected it'll all be merged into the karaoke version of the song and released. happy.gif

EDIT: Not sure why but the text file in the archive doesn't show up right. Here's the original link I got it from:

I'm interesting in participating too, but IMing you might be a little difficult if you know what I mean...

Hahaha, yeah, I guess I'll have to lift that from AIM for professional reasons. You should be able to contact me now.

IDR: I no longer have a server to host files with as the program I was using to host files decided to crap out on me. I can put it on yousendit, but isn't that capped too?

EDIT: Yousendit is a no-no, they're making me register and I'm not into that. Got another place I could put it?

^ Bump, figured I'd post it here instead of off-topic:

Girl singing the Nico Medley in English... epic cuteness inside!

Hope it's not a repost. tongue.gif

It's not a repost but... wow... laugh.gif

This should make people a little more confident I think. We just have to do like she did and append "sumimasen" to the beginning. wink2.gif

laugh.gif I think it'd be more appropriate for us to imitate Fumihiro and add 'san, ni, ichi... GO!' at the beginning. Initial D needs to get a piece of the Nico Medley pie! XD
