i have recently been bugged by that flood control thing, and have to sit and wait for another 20 seconds before I can reply (which is a long time when you are sitting at your computer). Is there a way this could be disable for advanced members?

i dunno
it's quite rational
we wouldn't want people chatting inside a forum, which i've seen happen before
checking 100 unread posts after a day could be more of an irritation than not being able to comment after 20 seconds... this is, of course, in my opinion

How about reduce that to 20 seconds ? I really can't put that any lower, people will spam the forums very badly if I put any lower than that. smile.gif

you dont have to, im just saying, maybe the advanced members could have a shorter time than the noobs, coz most of the advanced members here do not spam.

I realise that having newbies come in and spam is a pretty serious problem for an administrator

It's not only newbies spamming, jayson has a problem with 1 line postsand hes not a newbie at all. he joined the month this board was brought up. I do realise that it is annoying having to wait 30 seconds for you to be able to post again but the flood control is there to protect this board and keep it from evil spammers, lol.

Im not trying to start something but, you dont have to reply to every topic thats had more replies since you left. Each day there are atleast a hundred posts to topics. Its not your duty to make sure each and every topic has a post by you. Just please dont go all out with 100 posts per day. last i checked you were already at 16.4 posts per day. And there will always be topics to reply to and its impossible to reply to each one.

I dont feel that its my 'duty' to reply to every topic, i reply only to every topic that I feel i have an interesting reply to, and after four days of not posting, there were a lot of posts that I felt I would like to reply to!

I bet you were posting topics on the admin/moderator board over the weekend saying "thank god that S15-guy shut up, maybe he is dead!"

Is there a way of having the flood control only applying to individual threads as opposed to anywhere in the forums?
