Those SOHC engines really are gutless, but he's right about typical Honda 'rev the shit out of them and keep going' design at least. And those transmissions are geared so ridiculously that even with a gutless motor they still feel fast. RIP M0M's cameo though, totally cut out of the narrative. |

You can hit 80 in 2nd if you use the fuel cut as your shift point instead of the redline 0.o Either way, very pleased with how this turned out. <3 And special shout out to that guy Mike for just randomly showing up when Mr. Regular had a no-show! |

Plus there's the fact that I have no clue what that chassis code is. So let's go with 'no' and stick with 'holy shit the final drive on the Integra is 4.266:1 what the hell'. |

Click here to view the image in its original dimension. The story isn't over. Thank you Mike for taking such good care of her. I sincerely appreciate it. I also am thankful for selling her back dirt cheap. Not much is going to happen in the immediate future since Vanessa (Hannah's Civic) needs more love more seriously, but I just... ...Nng... maybe a year plus of owning a Prius has skewed my opinion of how fun Claire really is, but 20 seconds into the test drive and I was like h'awwwwwww yeahhhhhhh. Long term plan? Install a radio (there currently isn't one) Fix the body Fix the wiring in the door H22 swap + tranny rebuild Maybe mod later, but the F22 has lost a bit of power and I think it's just compression going in one of the cylinders. She's now up to 250,000 miles. But dammit, she's mine - once again. It is SOOOOO good to have her back. EDIT DID I MENTION SHE STILL HAD THAT CAN OF CUTTER IN HER LOL This post has been edited by Master0fMadness on Mar 28 2018, 10:58 PM |

It's a matter of saving before spending. Found out the timing belt and water pump were done recently too, so that's nice. Just gotta get the trans rebuilt in the not-too-distant-future. |

ShiMACHaze Group: Advanced Members Posts: 19,542 Member No.: 5,394 Joined: Feb 5th 2005 Location: Drydock | Honda transmissions are pretty bulletproof at stock power levels, and imported transmissions generally haven't been abused as badly as local ones. If the cost difference between rebuilding and replacing is significant, I would personally go with replacing instead. |

Rofl, I was referring to their manuals. Though the automatics on B-series engines are basically manual transmissions inside so they're good too. RIP those two though.

Funnily enough, it's the same with the J-series engines, which got - you guessed it - BAXAs and B7XAs. What killed them was Honda's attempt at fixing their "automatic manuals"' penchant for shifting a bit more harshly than traditional autos by designing them to partially engage the next gear a bit before the actual shift, which made shifts smoother but naturally ate the shit out of the clutch packs, resulting in the infamous recall of that era (which they never actually fixed). This also disproves the old rumor that it was only the V6s that had tranny issues, as the I4s had them too.
