Trying to force the issue isn't going to help. If Perry wanted to say anything about it, it would have already been said.

I've already spoken to him last night, and there was no indication of a desire to say anything on the subject. Let it rest.

Perry has shifted to being a webmaster and left running/managing the forum to others years ago, Rudy. It's not new.

So what you're saying is you were granted administration when you didn't ask for it?

I didn't specifically ask for it, but I didn't push it away when offered. What I did was let Perry know that he could benefit from a more active, proactive administrator handling his site after the events in the awards thread. I said that I was prepared to campaign for the position this year if things continued at the rate they were going, and he offered to just hand it to me since the position was always open to me if I wanted it. I accepted, and the ball slowly rolled over the course of a month.

Footnote: Had Perry said the position wasn't up for grabs, I would not have actually gone through with campaigning. It was just my way of showing my annoyance at the handling of the thread.

It is true that Tessou was okay as an admin last time, I have no objections on him stepping up this time.
(damn Tessou you made me real scared for that verbal warning thing for a sec, then I remembered you are Tessou.)

Yeah, I don't warn people anymore. Leave that to the mods, lest I become a dictator again. tongue.gif

As long as you keep the real you in private conversations, that makes sense.

"Pony" up a witty retort, retortist.

... and just when I was thinking about making a reunion tour on IDW, well I guess I'll log out for another year and hope he's been removed as an admin again.

Based off a few of your recent posts... you seem disgruntled.

I'm sorry... Really? It's not like there are fucking dictatortots up in this bitch. Like, I'll be 100% honest, outside of having a badge and not really doing any moderating, I'm not clear on what the current specific regular administrative tasks to keep the forum running even are... That's how behind the scenes this stuff is, all site-level. Unless major changes are made to site structure or policy (which there's no need for anyway right now) the person in that seat isn't going to make any major difference unless they make a conscious choice to do detrimental things to the forum as a whole.

The only major change I can remember that resulted from his last tenure was the change to warning reduction policy, which was a change for the better and has allowed us to actually remove "problem" individuals and prevent them from abusing the "automatic" reduction system that was previously in place.

New member approvals is one thing that comes to mind, takes about 2 mins. every week or so. laugh2.gif
