On a computer | That's why I love Wangan Midnight's dealing of Hiramoto's situation. Madman leaves his wife and unborn kid to buy a 600hp GT-R WITH THE MONEY SHE SAVED FROM hostess clubs and whoring herself out <enjou kosai although it is not explicitly stated she slept with her clients> goes and fails to defeat the main characters, resolves his existential crisis, sells his car and drags his sorry ass back to his wife and newborn kid who moved back with her folks to the countryside and who rather than create more drama and angst by turning him away, acts like an adult and realizes he had unresolved parts of his life and by coming back the way he did, makes it clear he's over it. Makes you feel for everyone involved and ties things up in a way that is not unsatisfying or feels throwaway which if it were unsatisfying, at least don't make it feel like a cop out. ...also it kinda reminds me of a situation close to home although those people weren't married yet with a kid on the way and there was no saving money through compensated dating. I LOL'ed. Yep. Especially in Korea, apparently. Yeah, I remember almost feeling physically ill reading that story and hoping he'd come to his senses... He actually bought the car stock and built it up to 600 HP. He also ruined his friendship with his friend who owns a muffler shop because "your mufflers aren't good enough any more" or something like that. IIRC, the money was their combined savings... but I might have misremembered. This post has been edited by Banken on May 15 2015, 01:11 AM | ||
