QUOTE (JKaiba @ 2 hours, 1 minutes ago)
Just curious- what is with your deep seated hatred with drifting floh? I'm not a big fan of a lot of the new stuff myself since it got bastardized by a lot of factors but it doesn't mean I feel those drivers have no real skill or talent. Or is it just your personal beef with backalley? Don't get me wrong, I have a great deal more respect for someone who can optimize track times. I know how hard that is compared to just getting the car to look cool sideways. However drifting I feel is just another art form created by the automotive culture we live in. I think it's rather improper to discourage folks reading this thread to stay away from sanctioned legal drift events and education. Some folks might read this and think: This floh guy thinks drifting sucks as a sport. I should only do it illegally so I'm not ghey like these people paying for track time to do it.

To be honest, I mainly say stuff about drifting/rotarys because backalley gets all pissy about it. He usually logs on with sand in his vagina and cant wait to get douche-chills when he reads a post of mine so he can refute it with garbage and throw out his favorite line of "you dont know anything". One of these days he'll learn to roll with the punches and joke around about it, but I dont see that day coming any time soon.

Do I think drifting is a joke? Sure, but I dont hate it. I pretty much "nothing" it. Aside from when I'm creating a new garfield sig, drifting doesn't even cross my mind. Formula 1 is in full effect, the autocross season has kicked off and club racing/NASA HPDE's are about to start getting underway so I have little time to dwell on something as insignificant as drifting.

Right before the heat we had to make some big adjustments, cause the car was too low on the left front, so we adjusted the whole thing on a whim, and it handled even better than before.

Finished 2nd in the feature.

I really hate the fact that I'm still stuck at work doing a massive server farm upgrade and can only see a big red x =( I'll make sure to scope it out when I get home.

Sr's car all repaired after the wreck two weeks ago. Went out in the heat and got wrecked, stuffed in the back, we just taped up the bumper, and sent it back about, the whole ass end was out of center by a good six inches. Came back to finish fifth in his heat race. Then proceeded to finish fifth in the feature. Not too bad with how haggard the car looked after gettin wrecked in the heat.

Floh what all is done to your car anyway? I'm curious. It has a 20v right? I think that's just about all I know about it.

20V Chernobyl'ed while putting the initial heat cycle into my new set of V710s. Friday night was spent transplanting a 16V I built and broke in during the winter and then had sitting in the back of the shop as a reserve.

Too much has been done to the Corolla to care to discuss. I never made a thread about my car because most of the time I get sick looking at it, thinking about what I have to rebuild next and to be honest, the times I genuinely like the car are few and far between. With the 16V in, the is built for E Prepared, do a search in this pdf for it and just about everything allowable has been done to the car.

I think you might AutoX with two people I know. They race in Street Modified. Ben Kaplan and Mike Towery, Ben has a beige Volvo 240 wagon with domo fenders, and Mike has a white '87 Volvo 240 Sedan.

I've seen both in fact. One of them has some killer fenders that look like monster teeth. Both are beastmobiles.

I cant see any of the pictures you posted, all proxied at work. When you said two volvos one wagon and one sedan and both 240's, I figured those were the only folks it could be. Both of their vehicles are animals. I think they're reg'ed for this sunday in fact at Fed Ex.

Edit now that I'm at the hotel and can see the pics: Yep, I've seen both of those folks at Fed Ex Field. Never talked to them, as they usually run in a different heat than I do, being SM and whatnot. If I see them there I can say "hi" for you if you want.

Great weekend. Took 2nd in the NCCBMWCCA autocross (due to their classification I was put up against WRX's and EVO's) and 1st in my class with the SCCA. As it stands right now, there is a very good chance that I'll be the regional champion at years end for my class in two major SCCA chapters.

I could have sworn that there was some kid in the DC area that said he was going to contact me about getting into motorsports. Whoever he is, get on the ball kid. Points event number two is in two weeks.
