Thanks to the community of eurobeat and trance-club 9 and other great music series the station is filled with other types of music. Oh and had a debate when DJ meetings were happening...really...the dumb bitch thinks eurobeat is techno and I should at least have a variety full of music. I tell her that "I don't only just play EUROBEAT (to correct her) I play trance, happy hardcore on holidays, dancepop, j-Pop, korean pop, dance, italo disco, yum-pop, and hyper techno. I do have variety you dumb bitch!" And tell her that her bland definition of techno is sad and should be retaught to her besides her illiterate Irishmen's Polish monkey. Yeah...but I pre-ordered and can't wait...what have you all been up to? :3 |

Anyways...aside the excitement for SEB 223...what classes of Italo Disco are there so that can continue winning this debate? Enlighten me please....*note* not being sarcastic. :3 [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

No, there are different styles. I can think of at least three distinctive ones. Early Italo (1980-1984) Italo from this period either relied on disco influences of the past...
Or were more influenced by progressive electronic works of the time...
Pop Italo (1984-1987) This was around the time Italo was at its commercial peak. Artists were all over television programs and records were selling by countless thousands. A very lucrative time, the sound was also commercialized and influenced by other pop styles...
"Italobeat" (1987-1989) Basically all those tracks in the late '80s on all those new labels like Asia and Radiorama (also Time Records, even though they were actually founded in '84) that were making eurobeat tracks before eurobeat could really be called, well, eurobeat.
There was also a lot of early Italo that had very funky influences with a "cosmic-lounge" kind of sound like these tracks:
These are just a few examples. I could make whole DJ mix sets focused on any of these four or so styles. What style do you like best? If we get to talking about this more in-depth I can make a new thread for this discussion.

As for the compilation, that could happen, but Avex always says that no matter how bad the sales are, they won't cancel it. And thanks Kyon for this cute history lesson! |

I hope not. Even if I liked the NS-Mixes of 213 and 216, but the idea of three non-stops per decade is in my opinion a fail. :s

Last track could be remix, as those artists have appeared usually on tech-para/hyper techno albums.

It could just be called Fastway and Irene...the song sounds Eurobeat with elements of Hyper Techno (the shouting...). It may be the standout track of the album!
