IDASv3 > IDAS4 Group: Advanced Members Posts: 6,862 Member No.: 2,853 Joined: Aug 28th 2004 Location: San Diego, CA | i currently have three. a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 for my main photography use. i used this exclusively as my main camera for more than 2 years before recently replacing it with my Rebel XTi. it will be going up on eBay as soon as i get back from japan. the image quality was good, but just cant compare to an SLR. zoom is great, as is the built in steady shot and low-light ISO mode. i'm really sad to get rid of this camera. a Canon Rebel XTi which i recently got to further my personal photography goals and give me incredible image quality. combined with the 70-300mm IS lens, this thing is just a dream to use and captures some amazing images. a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 for slim pocket use. i got this to replace the H2 as my go-to camera. but since its small, i can actually take it places in my pocket, which was the biggest drawback of the H2. this has excellent low-light, no-flash capabilities with built in image stabilization, and an ISO as high as 3200. its also got some other nice gimmickry like face recognition. and since its a sony, all my pro duo sticks for psp and the H2 work perfectly with it with no need to buy more. (for the rebel, i had to buy a compact flash card). |

I'm not a photographer so for now I don't need better. Also I have 2mpix camera in my Nokia 6280 but I think that doesn't count ;x |

We bought this refurbished and it's great for quickies and on the go though I kind of want something a little slimmer and at the same time a little better. |

Yea, thats what I rock too. I also have a terrible fuji film slim camera thats about three years old so yea, its "slim" composure went through its Kirstie Alley phase where its skinny one moment, and then fat as hell the next.

_Z_ looks like the living incarnation of Rock Lee XD! And am3pkcet's camera looks like it could take out a satilite with that thing attached to it =P. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...2966&CatId=2003 Theres a Tiger Direct down the road, so I browsed around there web site the other day I saw this neat looking camera. Picked it up the same day and bought an ACData 2GB SD card to go along with it. I'm more than happy with the picture quality and it doesn't have a bunch of useless features that I don't need either . Spotted this Ford Temp with an Acura badge as I was driving back to my old neigborhood. My dads CRV. Its no S2000, but its cheaper and faster than taking the transit lol. The worthless number 39 takes 57mins to pass right infront of my house. This post has been edited by Spike Razzor on Sep 7 2007, 07:12 PM

IDW Goldmember Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,380 Member No.: 4,338 Joined: Nov 18th 2004 Location: Update Profile | At the moment I am using a Sony DSC-T5 Cybershot the shots are exceptional but the shutter lag and zoom dont cut it for me anymore. I'm looking for something with at least 10x optical zoom and a fast shutter speed but not quite ready for the SLR. At the moment I have these Ultra Zoom models in mind Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. World Smallest Camera With 10x Optical Zoom and 28mm Wide Angle Leica Lens, 7 Megapixel and 3 Inch LCD Screen. Also rated as this years best ultra zoom camera. Olympus SP550 World's first and only 18x optical zoom camera with a 7 MP sensor, but from what I heard from reviews the menus are very sluggish and some ISO outputs are unusable. Which one would you guys suggest or if you have a better option please tell! This post has been edited by Metamorphic on Oct 2 2007, 04:58 PM |

t3h_n00berer Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,471 Member No.: 3,280 Joined: Sep 22nd 2004 Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada | I have two now, soon to be 3(more like 3 soon to be 4) 1. Nikon Coolpix 995 Great quality camera, and it takes amazing pictures, when you use it right, but the shutter speed and all that jazz is horrible on this ancient beast, so it's really tough to use in anything but a still shot. 2. Pentax K1000 I learned on this camera in art school, so when my plans became clear that I wanted a newer Pentax K series digital SLR, I thought it would be a great idea to start with a k1000 kit with a bunch of old lenses that would fit the newer camera, so that when I got the new one, I was ready to roll off the fly. Amazingly easy to use, great shots, no complaints whatsoever. Recommended if you still like film. 3(kinda). Canon ZR500 MiniDV Camcorder I was searching for 2 week obsessively for a camcorder that met my needs, and this filled it almost 100%. Awesome quality camera that's essentially a point and shoot, but still has enough features so that it could be used semi-proffessionally here and there until I save up enough to move on to the higher end. Recommended for sure, especially for the cost, only downsides are no lens kit, not hot shoe, and only a screw mount for the tripod... And soon to be 4. Pentax K10D We have a few of these at work, as well as D200s and Rebel XTis and EOSes, and in terms of use this takes the cake, and is only below in quality ever so slightly from the others(w/exception of the XTi) Which doesn't matter to me at all, it's the photographer that makes the shot, not the camera. I like the ease of use as it's very similar to most manual of SLRs, everything you need is at your fingertips and not in menus, and all my old lenses fit right on, but I lose the slightest bit of quality(boo-hoo.. ) and auto features, which I dislike anyway. For someone looking into the semi-prosumer dslr, I recommend this camera right away, jsut because Pentax doesn't have a big name NOW, doesn't mean they're bad, with their new line-up and what's ahead, they will be soon, that's for sure.
