| First Press with poster preordered for the staffs this time as Ryu*, Starving Trancer are working along with Mayumi Morinaga on her upcoming single Extra Whipping Cream and there will be another Ryu☆ album on October, so it is predicted no MAKI and Ryu* will be on BEST 13 again, however, Starving may still sing a few songs by his "Yusuke" alias like before on the other side, 浜田ブリトニー&兵庫ゆかり just produce a remix single マヂパネェ! with N.O.-SYO recently, so no CAMRY will not surprise me also, 405 should has replaced her position since BEST 11, just like si-na replacing Ma15, if the former one stay another focus is Icon and plasma, don't know whether plasma is a collaboration by known QUAKE DJs or newcomer, but still it is worth looking forward to see what they will produce this time, likewise, just if they would stay here again ---------- edit: info from tower records JP, the first 7 tracks artists are: 01 plasma feat. thank you so much!  now JPz Records has both Best 12 & 13 (Full/extended tracks) version both will be available on the website soon, including the complete batch torrent for all available ET albums on JPz Records. both Doc-S & chpsv will be credited for providing the extended tracks, of course will add that on the zip description |

| Don't know if I'll continue buying them as I've lost a lot of interest in them since the majority of songs are always moe vocals and mixtures of house or hardcore rather than proper trance. I bought Joysound's anime trance album last month and I think the covers they did were far better than what Exit Tunes have done. |

Huh, that's odd. It's just the opposite for me. If I wanted to buy just the music, I'd have just gotten some MP3s. But rather, since I appreciate having a physical copy and the benefits that come with nice packaging, I opt for CDs and records instead. |

If that's true I suppose I can grab it and figure out some way to share it. I'm currently away from home and will be until June, and at the moment only have my netbook (no CD drive) to use. There's plenty of computer parts laying around so I should be able to scrounge something together enough to rip a CD. I'm gonna give it another week or so. If there really is no one willing to share, I'll go ahead and buy Anime Best 15 as well as that Nyan Cat CD. Hopefully nobody where I'm staying will question why packages from Japan are showing up too much. |

If you have that Nyan CD it'd be great! I hadn't seen it uploaded in the usual places so I just assumed that no one was upping it. I'd love to hear it! And psh, iTunes... it does just fine for a personal collection, but it was a very long time ago that I ripped using iTunes. Like we're talking years. All of ETFanHome's releases since then have been using EAC. Though as I explained way back when that was a problem, iTunes merely added a fraction of a second delay to the beginning and end of each track. Aside from that its encoding was quite good. It'd be interesting to see if they fixed that 'bug' in a current version. I mean personally? I use iTunes to rip my own personal CDs for my own personal listening. It's fast and easy and does a great job. But I know there are some anal nerds out there who would bitch about that fraction of a second leadin/leadout, so I use EAC for net releases.  |

| There's always some Japanese people uploading ET CD rips on various blogs ect that will get spread around the net. iTunes lossless ripping doesn't add that fraction of a second to the track lengths. I rip all my stuff in lossless now, and I don't see an extra second added to anything like before. |

| EAC is fine! personally, I prefer foobar2000, but either way its the same thing. Yes, sooner or later I'll update Nyaa Cat Album on JPz Records. Currently all staff members in JPz Records are max uploading old stuff that were lost during the MU shutdown. I will see to it though that I will share all the new stuff that's available coz mostly I have the lossless of the new ones, except for Best 15. Also currently, I'm planning to purchase the extended tracks and host it on the site since Doc-S said that he wont do it anymore. But, if someone's gonna purchase it on BEAT-KING (320k) and share it, please let me know. |

| You all know I'm more a fan of the nonstop CDs than the iTunes 'full' releases, so if in the next week or so there's nothing on that it'll be on its way to my doorstep. I found an external USB CD drive while cleaning so I should be able to rip it no problem. |

It's a huge pain, especially with the current yen exchange rate. The problem is that you can't attach a credit card with a non-Japan address to a Japanese iTunes account. The same goes for PlayStation Network. So the only way to buy things from these stores is to use prepaid cards. That's fine if you have someone you know personally in Japan who doesn't mind getting you one every once in a while (though the exchange rate will still rape you) but otherwise you buy said cards from vendors. My...goodness. All this time I thought iTunes was the culprit. All this time I let people convince me that iTunes was evil. Since 2009 I was convinced that yes, for once these silly people who complained about volume on a file with maximum dynamic range were right about something. https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=36275&view=findpost&p=1117261 The trouble with the test I did back in '09 was, I compared the raw WAV output to the MP3 encode from iTunes, without then converting the raw WAV output to MP3 using GoldWave or similar and comparing that. Had I done so--which I tested just now to confirm--I would have discovered that encoding to MP3 in general adds a seemingly random 0.0## second lead-in and lead-out to any encoded file. God damn. Well, it's three years late but finally I am vindicated. Thank you, KyonPalm, for allowing me to use iTunes for MP3 rips once more. I am in your debt. Hell I wish I had brought that Miku CD with me to NY so I could just ship it to you now! |

Hahaha! Glad I could help you out there. It's just one of many little nuances in file encoding I've noticed in my ~4 years of audio editing. You can ship it whenever you get a chance.  In all seriousness, I don't know much about the differences between iTunes as a ripper and any other programs, but from what I can tell, EAC is indeed the best at delivering the most accurate reproduction of data from a CD. Not that it matters much for the average listener, but I still always use it for my archiving, since it doesn't take much out of my day to spend a couple extra seconds working with the program. By the way, this MP3 delay is automatically circumvented in Winamp, because it has a kind of "smooth transition" between tracks in your playlist, so even with MP3s, you can have uninterrupted playback as long as you use Winamp. Otherwise, you should use WAV if you're concerned about having ALL the audio data in the mix (which is kind of the point of a mix, innit?) One other file format that I know doesn't do the "gap" thing is FLAC, which is cool since it's a great format to begin with. |

From what I can advise about ripping stuff from CDs, using EAC or foobar is the best ripper for lossless encoding. But, strictly, yes... It's a very BAD IDEA to use iTunes to rip stuff directly from the CD to lossy mp3. It may seem like the frequency is high, but the audio output volume is not the original's. Mind you that the previous attempts were pretty bad. I suggest, you rip the CD to lossless, then encode it to lossy mp3!  |

| In the case of soundfiles victimized by the "loudness war" effect, try opening the file in Audacity (I can't speak for any other program as I've never tried this in any others) and click on the Amplify tool. If it automatically detects the adjustment to be in the negative dB, complete the (de)amplification and see if the waveform is back to a normal level. If it is not, then it is permanently distorted, and cannot be repaired. I have not tested this far enough, but if you can deamplify it to a normal, "non-brickwalled" level, what may have been the brickwalling culprit could be the method of ripping (I do not know if iTunes is one that does this, or even if any ripping program does this because, again, I've not yet tested this idea, it's just a theory.) If this theory is true, then it's likely that if the sound file cannot be deamplified, it was mastered that way on the CD to begin with and no matter what you use to rip it, it will always be a damaged sound file because either the mastering engineer(s), the producer(s) or whoever was in any kind of contact with the album in question was a complete fucking retard who should have lost their job ages ago and doesn't know enough about proper sound engineering to get even a concept as basic as "don't completely fucking decimate and obliterate the soundwave" by amplifying and distorting it to high hell. By the way, that means a lot of people should be losing their jobs in the industry today - especially those in charge of "remastering." |

That CD did rip properly, I confirmed it twice after finding out that AT15 was busted. No worries there. I believe it's because AT15 is gapless and Nyan Cat is not. EDIT: Turns out I was right about the gapless thing. I don't have time to debug what's up with this drive and EAC. This isn't my usual ripping setup so I'm not going to futz with it. I ripped the CD using iTunes and it worked perfectly. Ripping it with EAC fucks it up. So screw EAC, piece of garbage. iTunes master race! Sadly this time I couldn't order it because I spent my money on Comiket. If no one uploads it in a while, I will see if I have the funds to get it myself. I do really want it, but Comiket had to come first.Here's a preview of the tracks, though, ripped from iTunes. The Amazon previews are 45 seconds starting at the beginning of each track but the quality is super low. Just convert the files to MP3 and then open them in some tag software to check if the info's still there. If it is, just remove it. I'm saying this assuming that iTunes puts that info in a miscellaneous metadata tag in the file(s). If I'm wrong, then nevermind. I don't use iTunes, as you can tell. |

Songs purchased from the iTunes store come in m4a format with a proprietary metadata tag system that puts user information into two locations--one is in the immediate header and the other is after a series of junk data (perhaps album art?) just before the actual audio data. While it doesn't reveal your password or mailing address it does list your registered name and your Apple ID (your registered e-mail address). There are ways of stripping this proprietary data from the header without altering the music files. Or, indeed, you can just dump the m4a files into an encoder and change them to 320k MP3s. Even if you don't set the option most encoders have to strip metadata before encoding, I doubt that any encoder would preserve the iTunes metadata format for user information when converting to MP3. The MP3 metadata standards don't support such tags. |

What iTunes do you buy your stuff on? I don't know about other countries' iTunes services, but maybe they work differently and don't tag users' IDs in the metadata. |

That's interesting, but it only shows the e-mail field (unless ITUNMOVI shows the registered name and we just can't see it because your column settings are too small). Unless you can edit both metadata locations it's not very useful...even if you are using a fake name like 'Oracle'. EDIT: @Kyonpalm: I've only ever purchased from the US and Japanese stores, but can confirm that both those stores make the exact same tags on their files encoded the same way in the same locations. |

So, confirm that Foobar is able to remove both the e-mail address (which appears in plaintext) and the registered name (which is UTF-8 encoded, therefore requiring your text viewer be in UTF-8 mode to read). If it can then that's great! Just an FYI that the 'fixed' version still contains your registered name in the metadata. You did remove the e-mail, though, so props there! |

| Moimoi and Booing Day done a great job on the opening track But well, if you need an overall conclusion for this album, I would say this is a R.Cena collection CD. However, I can't see any improvement or efforts she had done on. and two tracks named mi-mi were actually R.Cena.....my godness no more R.Cena please, she really doesn't suit moe songs I really feel disappointing with the CD version too little crossfading work, and most of the time-wasting prelude kept I can't believe the non-stop mixing was done by Ryu* or does he really hates Dizzi Mystica so much? last albums cut so much parts from his tracks, this time keep too much in startings and endings lol and finally, my rating to the tracks is on below: |

I hate it when people complain like that. It's like saying "come on, I'm too lazy to buy a CD and support artists, can't someone else do that one time so I don't have to?" There's a secret hidden truth to pro-copyright argument, and this is one of the incredibly rare situations I will have to admit it. The only time at which piracy can hurt the artist/industry is when the pirate in question is someone who will never buy the work in question because they only care about having the content, rather than the product. That is, they're content with having MP3s and will never buy the CD. If you care so much, stop asking if someone else will buy the CD for you, and just get the damn thing yourself. As long as you're not the type of pirate I mentioned above, you'll probably enjoy the product. |

I don't know how to help you. According to my disc cover neither of those are correct. Is it possible that the iTunes version has different tracks for those? Kinda like back when they couldn't release iDOLM@STER tracks on iTunes but only on the CDs? EDIT: Listened to the iTunes previews. They sound the same as my CD version so I can only assume that iTunes is wrong and the CD cover is right. Hilariously enough when you insert the CD into iTunes, it correctly lists the same artists as the CD cover. |

You can remove those tags without converting to MP3. Foobar2000 reads the tag and it can delete them without any conversion whatsoever. Mp3tag is able to wipe the tags clean (so is foobar2000) so you can write the tags without the extra information. However, be aware that by leaving your account in the tags you are opening yourself to being banned. This. I listened to the iTunes previews and while a few were surprisingly good (Fantastic Future was amazingly spot-on with that Yukari Tamura impression!) a hard trance version of Yamato 2199 won it for me. I just can't resist! |

| The two sound great together! DATE-A-LIVE was one of my favorites from hearing the previews. The sound takes me back all the way to the old CODE SPEED album tracks. The only other tracks I'm looking forward to now, are 8, 16 & 20. |

AAC 256kbps (encoded with iTunes) is much better quality than any MP3. Just so you know. Also, most devices are now compatible with AAC. |
