Y'know, it's not their fault for using a feature given to them. If one's too many it wouldn't have been put there in the first place.

I have opposed it from its inception. It's a one way mirror that just widens a gap between members and staff.

I have NEVER used it, I actually stood behind all my mod actions.

That feature needs to go, as I said in the very first post.

Stand behind some of this. Biggest example is letting members see the mods actions

This is something to think about :

If that feature were not used in this case, this thread would not exist.

Everyone would have known what happened.

The problem there is that we don't have the appropriate section for banning notices anymore. The only banned member thread is tucked in the staff section. As a proponent of transparency in the forum, I hope it can be implemented at some point so nobody gets confused by such events.

I mentioned a solution to that in the first post.

Edit : For someone's who is a proponent of transparency, I don't understand why you keep making these mistakes. No mod note in here : https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=41713

Well, it HAS been a while. I haven't done this job in something like a year. It's hard getting back into the habit of "sigging" my posts whenever something happens.

So do I have to keep pointing out your mistakes in here?

No, you don't. If you have a problem with how I do things, I'd rather you put it in PM or AIM instead of embarrassing me every which way on the forum.

I am communicating it properly for the public to witness, as per forum guidelines, so I see no need to take it to PM's.

Transparency is key.

You realize this is a thread from the first of September that you revived solely to take a crack at being warned for using a racial slur, right? blink.gif

Think of it as a form of self-moderation.

And no, it was more along the fact that there wasn't much transparency along the way. It was more of a red light camera than an officer's explanation, if that makes sense.

What explanation was needed?

The warn should explain everything to you, and I don't think there was anyone in the thread who did not get why the warn was given.

Filling in the report form would have been nice, but it's hardly an extreme case of lack of info. Pretty much a clear cut warn.
