This has been on my mind for a while, but never got around to posting it up.

The max. avvy size at the present is 100x100, but it could be 160x100 without increasing post size. The text "Advanced Members" stretches out farther.

However, even going to 160x160 would not have an adverse effect to forum layout.

I think it would be a small change, but one that would be welcomed by all members alike ( especially if the 100KB limit is increased at the same time ).

It's a good idea. But I think 160x160 is wayyyy too big for avatar. Perhaps 128x128 with 150KB size would be perfect. I am thinking that the extra big avatar feature should only be available for Advanced Member or anyone who donated let say $5.

Now that's a good idea ( the donation part ).

Look at the sidebar, and it looks like 160x160 would still fit and not make it any wider. 128x128 is an improvement, don't get me wrong. smile.gif

I like this idea. While I've always been used to the avatar size here, I've always been frustrated at how some ones that I try to use just don't come out well with the low resolution. I think 150x150 would be best.

Why not 154x154 since there is a total padding of 6px on the left and right side in the user box?

Rather than doing a weird resolution, why not just 150x150?

I'm ok with anything as long as it is larger, I threw the 160 square out there since it is the largest even size that would not impact the size of the sidebar.

150 x 150 @ 150kb sounds good to me.

I like the 150px h/w for an avatar. I would gladly give 5$ for that option. Of course, it'll still be Jenna but in 150px h/w :3 (LOL)

I suggested this weird dimension because it would take advantage of the maximum available space.

Oh that's where you got it from?

I thought I was close with the 160, but I guess I wasn't. biggrin.gif

This seems to be an overwhelming yes among the members. I'll have a discussion with the mods and we'll finalize this by the end of the week. And yes, donations made before will be counted retroactively. smile.gif

I think as the site owner, you really don't have to discuss it with your team, although I don't think anyone would be against it. And why would anyone be against it, it would hardly affect forum performance, and aside from that, there are no negatives that I can think of... cool.gif

I wholeheartedly agree, and do my best to make that happen as often as possible.

Just as much as with the general populace, especially if it is concerning a cosmetical change that in no way effects their duties as mods.

Rule changes, changes that affect functionality, and the like, I agree with you.

But for avvy size change?

No need to discuss this behind closed doors, staff should just post up right here, just like everyone else. smile.gif
