Just as Paul Logan unintentionally disrespected someone .. so he too will be intentionally disrespected by people .. and just as you have failed to show mercy unto Paul Logan .. so mercy will be failed to be shown unto you one day.

★ Book of the Xiaopocalypse：Chapter 6 Verse 9 ー according to Saint Neco of Chan †

★ So bringing the theme back to philosophy .. I wrote a short story cause I wanted to make sense ~ or at least unscramble my thoughts .. on some of the current events that've been on the news recently.

The story is graphic in nature ~ so don't read if you're squeamish ~ however it's just words .. and it isn't intended to shock or offend ~ rather just to make the audience think.

So without further ado ~ here's a small piece of fictional philosophy I wrote：

.. what if you had the person you hated the most right in front of you. The man that raped and killed your two daughters, caught by the police, in front of a judge. He's asking for forgiveness, he'll never do it again, and tells you how his father raped him when he was younger, and did the same then killed his mother.

You don't care, this man did something to you vile. He's a monster, no, you call him a demon, and ask the judge to give you 5 minutes with this demon alone in a locked room with you ..

The judge glances at you, clenching your fist & grinding your teeth .. then at the man that raped and killed your two daughters .. trembling with repented tears & urinating himself on the court stand.

The judge says, fine, you have 5 minutes with him. They uncuff the man and the policemen recede and give way to you.

You grab the man by his scalp and drag him to a small jail cell behind the courtroom and turn off the lights .. you can still see his frail body shaking in the corner next to the metal toilet, and you see your reflection thru the dim light in the mirror above it.

You start beating his face in .. and scream at him how you wanna trample his cranium under your heel & pop his head on the sidewalk like a red confetti filled balloon for what he did to you. You cave in his trigeminal nerves so far behind his skull and tell him how his punishment will be ~ Biblical.

Then you stop and look at his bloodied face .. and all of a sudden see the face of Christ. You think for a second that your own eyes are deceiving you, so you keep elbowing - kneeing - and beating his face even harder.

You look at him again, and see that his face has actually turned into the face of Jesus .. but you don't care, this man raped & killed your two beloved daughters, he he even f#cking impaled your cat on a stick and roasted her on the backyard. My little kitty .. you pant for a second. You want blood, so you grab his left eye-socket with your bare hand, and rip his left eyeball from his face .. take a deep breath & cool off a bit, but then start hoping you can smooth out his face with the bottom of your shoes.

With unsubsiding rage in your eyes you look at him again, and now notice it's the face of your first daughter, bleeding and without a left eye .. and he/she says to you, I'm .. I'm sorry please .. You trip out for a second and keep telling yourself it's just an illusion .. why is the face of my little girl on this demon!!? F#ck it you don't care, you keep beating the snot out of her and eventually rip the other eyeball off her socket ..

You look at him again, and now it's the face of your youngest daughter, bloodied - bruised - crying and can barely attempt to say, I'm sorr.. ARRGHHHH! this infuriates you even further, so you grab her by the neck and start choking her.. you yell at him, die you fucking demon! Beating her face in over and over.. until you rip his chest open with your bare hands and crack his rib-cage open and begin to dismantle his corpse from the inside out.

You killed him, you stand up with a smile on your face and heavy breathing then look at him .. you notice that the face of Jesus, the face of your first daughter, and the face of your youngest daughter are now wiped, and as you attempt to discern his torn dead body on the floor, you see that it's your own body, and your own bloodied face, dead on the ground.

Okay this is some freaky shit, you've had enough and scream for the judge.. JUDGE! I'M DONE!! ..but no one arrives. Then in the quiet small space, you slowly look up at the mirror, the one you first saw yourself when you dragged this demon into the room and..

You see in the mirror the most hideous looking monster you've ever seen, like something out of a really messed up cartoon, teeth protruding out of your mouth with blood, uglier than the ugliest white shark, hands like sharp jagged claws, feet like that of a goat, half of your skin melted off, your eye sockets black holes, and your scarlet body even uglier than paintings of Satan in the Sistine Chapel's Last Judgement wall ..

You say, NO! what the hell !!? ... and then look around the pitch dark room and see nothing except your own dismembered body on the floor, pitch black, trapped forever, and no one is ever coming back for you.

.. and you think to yourself, but I did what Christians practice! I hated the sinner not the sin .. but you can't even think straight, then looking up at the darkness you say to yourself .. or was it the other way around ?

To clarify ~ I wasn't trying to minimize - deny - justify - or collude with wrongdoing ..

But sometimes in our pursuit of neutralizing evil and excising it out of repented men .. we become that very same evil instead.

The only way to extinguish a fire .. is with water .. not with more fire ~ or else you'll burn the whole house down instead of just baking the bread.

I think you missed the point. I think xiao's point is that when people want to punish evil people, they sometimes become just as evil.

Isn't it what I said? If an evil person kills your family you get blinded with rage because of that person and you will be evil too as a result of his act because you want revenge.

But that defeats your purpose of your post.

People who commit murder/violent acts do it based on planning, like you wanting to go for a walk or such. You plan stuff out, what shoes you should wear, etc.

They pick a victim, they pick how they will do it and if they wish for a quick almost painless kill or to drag the experience on for their pleasure.

Going into a blinded rage means you're basically just going on impulse, you don't care how it gets done, you just want it done.
People are always going to have a sort of evil/darkness inside of them, it's just who lets it out and in what way do we call them 'fucking evil'

But that's deeper thinking from all of us, and we're in xiao thoughts. lol

Backfires are used to battle brush fires, kills the fuel/brush ahead of the path to give the fighters a better chance at stopping it.

★ But yeah, all three of you have a valid point：

・ Nerubi-pyon was saying that people don't naturally turn evil out of the blue, and while that might be an over simplification, I think Nerubi's on the same wave-length as Master Yoda when he said: darkness only begets more darkness ~ while light begets more light.

・ Umu-kun touched on punishment. I don't believe in punishment and even less in retribution, cause if a man's already repented, it's better to turn him into a good guy instead of propagating pain. Punishment is based on wanting to make the other person pay and to teach someone a lesson .. that's why mercy is so hard ~ Mercy is a World War 2 soldier looking at a Nazi on his knees asking for forgiveness, and instead of shooting him, turns him into a good guy.

・ Bonta-kun touched on pre-planned and acts of passion, both are bad, but there's no use raging over spilled milk. Evil isn't a tangible person .. it's a spirit or a virus like Nerubi-kun mentioned .. it wants to destroy ~ and after it's sucked the life out of the offender, it corrupts the victim by perpetuating vengeance and retribution. I think the only way to deal with evil is by staring at the man in the mirror, and asking him to change his ways.
