When he starts experimenting on stuff rather than sticking to formula that he used to do.

unfortunately, the cost of playing is a big disincentive for me so i dont experiment much. that's why my times are still bad. i just enjoy the race as best as i can.

anyway, i think a very important aspect of a true arcade pro (not just idas4 imo) is how he treats other players. he shouldn't look down on lousy players unless they're being n00b, and he shouldn't be an ass to those who aren't as good as him.

btw ShinRei, you got another girlfriend just after you were dumped by the previous one? wow. i always thought one should "cool off" in between relationships. happy.gif

hey peoples,
just wondering, in your opinion, when is a noob no longer considered a noob?
in my opinion its when he has completed the story mode at least once, figuring out how to brake properly and stuff(techniques) along the way - which means no help from others. He/She should have quite a few battles and a good win rate too smile.gif

When they can stay behind me atleast 40 meters at teh end, lol, j/k

Personally I think I'm still a noob when it comes to initial D...version 4 in particular. But I believe that graduating from being a noob in the game, to me, is how well u progress in the game. U lose u learn from it. U win, be humble about it. U keep practicing until ur comfortable with the game. But always keep in mind that it's only a game. Don't hate on me for saying that but it is true. Just make sure Initial D (or any video game) isn't a priority. happy.gif

a noob graduates from being a noob.. when he play the game for more than a hundred times.. battle many players from different territories.. got some good time attack records (you can really compare the TA of a noob and not) and he had listen and learn to those of his co-players the art of playing the game.. from the fundamentals to the techniques smile.gif

I think that a noob graduates when he realizes that he's slow and tries in every way possible to learn new techniques and skills to be faster. He/she also wants to battle opponents that are even faster than he/she is in order to improve. Well.... this can also be effectively used by or semi-pros(like me) grin2.gif or pros.

Also, I think that a pro can become a noob when he thinks that he is the fastest and he doesn't need to practice or improve. He'll definitely lose when a more pro driver comes by.
My advice to everyone: never think that your are the fastest racer, always try to be faster.

When a noob grows the desire to learn, improve, accept criticism and try to experiment and practice to get better--they become newb. From there it's self-explanitory.

When you've played for a while and your skills are above average, you can just tell when someone's a noob

haha it also partially depends on who you're racing against,
i mean, against someone who doesnt have a card, someone who has a
1-1-1-1-1 tuned car may be godly to him haha laugh.gif

i think a newb graduates when he beats bunta for the first time. not to say that person is particulary good, but he is no longer a newb. since to beat bunta the first time, u need to have a decent understanding of braking points and knowlegde of the basics of the game.
