My Double Aces + Rising Stars Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,587 Member No.: 5,284 Joined: Jan 28th 2005 Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | This FAQ is for the International Export Version 2.0 Note: Previous version of FAQ found here: https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37952 1) Changes to EXP2.0 - In store battle now allows you to up your racer class. - ...which in turn means auras are now possible. - Tuning shops every eject instead of 3 games previously. - Color change available previously exclusive to Japanese players is now available in the accessories shop. (150,000points per change) - Event mode now available if the machine is hooked up online. EXP2.0 can only join TA based events. Battle events still restricted to Japan. - Avatar change now also possible via in-store battle. - Internet ranking now available, again only through online machines. - Initial D.net services for players with cards registered online. Visit http://game.initiald.sega.com to access. 2) Card Transfers - From EXP ver, yes. However it is a one-way transfer; you cannot use your 2.0 card on 1.0! - From ID4, sorry, still no 3) Data transferred to 2.0 - All cars and tunings (body and performance) available in the card - All points obtained - Legend of the Street (Story mode) completion status. (rivals cleared, loops completed) - All Time Attack records. - Rank and avatar status (which should be the default ones since it's impossible to change them in 1.0) - In-Store battle records are reset to 0. 4a) Area Code designations Unlike 1.0, where you can select the area of Japan you wish to register the card to, the area code assigned is fixed to the location of the machine upon transfer (Area code as of the official ones shown on Sega's event mode intros): Singapore - SGP Hong Kong - HKG Taiwan - TWN Shanghai (China) - CHN Malaysia - MYS Korea - KOR *In red : Not available as of writing. Japanese players will appear as with home area "JPN" regardless which Japanese home area their cards are registered to. If a transfer from EXP is done at an offline machine, the area code will read as ***, however if the card is inserted into an online machine, the area code of that machine will be registered on the card. Note that the area code will determine which country your TA records will go to under "Area ranking", and it cannot be changed once set. 4b) Issuing arcade On the card, there is a space for "issuing arcade". It's just to show where the card was being renewed at (or transferred to 2.0 at). It's not fixed and can be changed unlike the home area data. If the issuing arcade is blank, this means the arcade the 1.0 to 2.0 transfer took place is offline. A nice example was provided by hkpoorguy as per attached in below section
4c) License number designations. A 11 digit number for your license card is assigned upon first play in an online 2.0 machine. This is your login ID to the IntiialD.net site. You can use this number to access to the Initial D 5 ranking system website online You can check your own profile, time attack timings, garage and records of events(event stamps). 5) Course Car List: Course cars usually have stronger and longer lasting boost, and they are usually associated with the home course of the characters which use these cars in the manga / anime. (except for Lake Akina). These usually will be the best car to TA with in the course. Lake Akina Counter Clock Wise - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (CT9A) Lake Akina Clock Wise - Subaru Impreza WRX (GDBF) Myogi DH - Honda Civic SiR II (EG6) Myogi UH - Nissan Skyline GTR (BNR32) Akagi DH - Mazda RX7 (FC3S) Akagi UH - Mazda RX7 Type R (FD3S) Akina DH - Toyota Trueno Sprinter (AE86) Akina UH - Subaru Impreza WRX Ver V (GC8) Irohazaka DH - Toyota MR2 G-Limited (SW20) Irohazaka UH - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III (CE9A) Tsukuba OB - Honda S2000 (AP1) Tsukuba IB - Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II nur (BNR34) Happogahara OB - Honda Civic Type R (EK9) Happogahara IB - Honda Integra Type R (DC2) Nagao DH - Toyota MR-S S Edition (ZZW30) Nagao UH - Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80) There are also "second home course cars". These cars typically also have improved properties in the courses (better boost similar to course cars), but they usually are still slightly slower than the homecourse cars above (although they are capable of beating the homecourse cars in the right hands e.g Iro DH with Cappuccino). Lake Akina Counter Clock Wise - Nissan Silvia S13 (S13) Lake Akina Clock Wise - Nissan 180SX (RPS13) Myogi DH - Sileighty (RPS13) Myogi UH - Nissan 180SX (RPS13) Akagi DH - Nissan Silvia S14Q (S14Q) Akagi UH - Mazda RX7 (FC3S) Akina DH - Toyota Levin GT-APEX (AE86) Akina UH - Mazda RX-7 Type R (FD3S) Irohazaka DH - Suzuki Cappuccino (EA11R) Irohazaka UH - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV (CN9A) Tsukuba OB - Toyota Altezza RS200 (SXE10) Tsukuba IB - Mazda RX-8 Type S (SE3P) Happogahara OB - Mazda RX-7 Type RS (FD3S6) Happogahara IB - Mazda Roadster (NA6CE) Nagao DH - Mazda Roadster RS (NB8C) Nagao UH - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII (CT9A) 6) Accessing the tuning shop. Choose the garage option (2nd option on the main menu) and select the car, a prompt will pop up; just hit yes to enter. The green tuning icon is ALWAYS in place in 2.0. 7) Car tuning Tuning shop cycle in 2.0 is as same as 1.0 (Performance > body > performance > accessories...etc), except that the cycle is now much faster (every eject!), allowing an FT car to be obtained quicker. 8) Physics changes None whatsoever between 1.0 and 2.0. This is the reason why the TA records are not reset. However battle boost seems to have changed between 1.0 and 2.0....2.0's boost feels much slower, and therefore, it is much more difficult to chase if you lose the start. 8) Avatar tuning (My Character Parts) Avatar tuning is only possible via In-Store battle. There is a My Character meter that must be filled up completely before the avatar roulette is available. - The bar is seperated into 10 blocks - which can be obtained in the following ways: -> Winning an in-store battle : +4 blocks -> Losing an in-store battle : +2 blocks -> Completing a story mode / Time Attack mode while the accept challenger flag is ON : +1 block upon game completion (includes Force Quit) Any extra blocks left over after filling up the current My Character Parts bar will be carried over into the next bar. The rate the roulette spins is fixed, but the speed the roulette stops is not. Sometimes it immediately stops, sometimes it continues to spin a lot longer before it stops. So it's not easy to get the part you want even if you see it on the roulette. Any parts declined cannot be recovered. Parts such as Glasses or accessories, once added to your character, can only be replaced; it cannot be removed. Scarfs, necklaces and unique facial features are all classed under accessories - and these are NOT considered as seperate items, therefore when offered a scarf when you already have a necklace (or a facial feature), you will replace the necklace/facial feature if you accept the change. 9) Battle Class and Auras All players will start at D3 regardless of their in-store records in 1.0. To level up to the next level, the meter must be filled up to the top (by winning, of course). Then a message indicates that the next match you play is a promotion match - win that and you will level up. Lose, and you will lose bars (more than if you usually lost) In D class, winning or losing will give you bars, but losing will only give you 1/2 of what you would normally have if you won. (You still must win the promotion match to actually level up however). Starting from C class however, losing will deduct bars from your meter. If the meter is emptied, you will receive a warning stating losing again will demote your rank. The lowest you can be demoted to is D1. The meter fills up quickly in the lower levels (and drops more bars in the lower levels too), but as you progress up the ranks, you will need to win more battles to fill up the meter. The rank of the opponents you battle also determine the amount of bars you gain or lose: - If the opponent is of a higher rank, you gain more bars when winning and lose less bars when you lose. - If the opponent is of a lower rank, you gain less bars when winning and lose more bars when you lose - in fact starting from A3, losing to any opponent 3 or more ranks lower than you (B3 or lower in this case) will cause you to lose more bars than you would have gained from the opponent if you had won. There's also a certain limit to how much bar you can gain/lose if you versus an opponent who is 3 ranks higher/lower than you. A simple example below (assuming example is with a B3 rank which has just beaten an opponent) Level of opponent beaten - gain SS-A3 : Max possible gain B1 : Higher gain B2 : Slightly higher gain B3 : Normal gain C1 : Slightly lower gain C2 : Lower gain C3-D3 : Lowest possible gain. This also works for losses (example again, with B3 rank): Level of opponent lost to - gain SS-A3 : Lowest possible loss B1 : Lower loss B2 : Slightly lower loss B3 : Normal loss C1 : Slightly higher loss C2 : Higher loss C3-D3 : Max possible loss Stock cars which do not have ranks will still give bars for your meter if you win (or deduct your bars if you happen to lose against one), but always be considered as a D3 class for calculation purposes. Naturally, since stock cars do not have ranks, these cars cannot level up. 9b) What does battle class affects - Battle class from observation only affects the right to select the course for In-Store Battle. Unlike IDv2 and IDv3's battle system, the challenger is not guarenteed course selection. If your rank is higher than your opponent's, the lower your chances of selection of the course; even if you were one who challenged the opponent. The effect is not very noticable if the rank gap is low (e.g 1 or 2 ranks), but it is very noticable if the rank gap is very big between the two challengers. It IS still possible to get course selection if you are the higher ranked and you are challenged by someone lower ranked, but the chances are slim. Besides the above, rank does nothing to affect car performance during Time Attack or Battles. 10) Aura. - You will gain an aura once you hit A3 class. Each level after that gives you a different coloured aura - as follows: A3
A2
A1
S3
S2
S1
SS
11) Pride Points Once your card rank hits SS, there is a system in place which gauges your win/loss instead of the color meters in the previous ranks. This is the Pride Points system (and there is a internet ranking for this system too - provided your machine is online linked). The pride points system works in a simple manner: You gain 1 point for every win you get (regardless of your opponent's rank) You lose 2 points for every loss you suffer (regardless of your opponent's rank) Once you rank up to SS from S1, you will start with 5 pride points. If for any reason your pride points drop to 0, just like any other ranks, you will be greeted with a message telling you that if you LOSE the next match, you will drop to S1. Winning this demotion risk match only gets you 1 pride point back (meaning you're still not any safer than before). Since of course, SS is the highest rank already, the more pride points you have, the safer you are from demotion. 12) Event mode Schedule for the whole month can be found on the official site usually during the 1st or 2nd day of the month. 7 days before the event starts, the game loading screen will have information of the upcoming event and a countdown. Unlike other modes, you will have to pay 1000 points to enter the event. The event will show different 3 timing as you play the event mode. 1st is to show the minmium timing to get a sticker(Explained in Event sticker) The time will change every time when more players play After clearing the minmium timing, the world event record of the map will appear 2nd is your current fastest record 3rd is your current event record If you break your current fastest record during event, both 2nd and 3rd will show the same time. After the game is completed, a graph will shown where all players' average and top timings. You will be able to see where you rank at. There are two different event types in EXP 2.0 (as per earlier stated, battle events are JP ver exclusive and is not available in EXP 2.0. -World event mode where the event ranking is against the whole world (only one leaderboard). -Local event mode where the event ranking is within the country only (seperated leaderboards per country). 13) Avatar Background 3 stamps for a background change. Stamps are only available during the event period and only one stamp will be awarded per day. Just play the event and exit the game when finish to get a stamp. The backgrounds available are randomly generated - and it is your choice to either change or maintain the current background. 14) Event Sticker Top 60%(40th percentile) in the event to qualify for the event sticker. When the event ends, just play a game and insert your card, you will be prompted to choose a sticker, then you will be at the usual garage screen. You have to choose and play the car you want to place the sticker on, exit the game to place sticker. There are 4 spots to place your stickers and you cannot choose which spot to place the stickers till you have all 4 spots filled. If all four spots are already filled, you need to replace the sticker (you can't have more than four at any one time). Only one car in a card can receive a sticker from one event. 15) Card Renewal - Card renewal requires the machine to be online at time of renewal. No online, no renewal. Renewal is similar to all the other version renewals. - If the machine is offline, the play count will be stuck at 11 plays (or if it's already gone below that, stuck at that number). - After going below 10 eject, the machine will prompt you that card need to renew. - The machine will print on the card if the card has to renew after 3 ejects. 16) List of Online ID5 machines - Available on the official website: http://initiald.sega.com/location.html Note: In addition to the arcades listed, there are also 2 more arcades in SGP with online (Timezone Woodlands and Zone-X SCAPE). There may be other arcades with online unlisted. 17) Connection Icon descriptions. On the top right of the screen there are three square icons displayed indicating connection between machines and/or online. 1st icon from the left is the In Store Battle connection. 2nd icon from the Event Mode connection. 3rd icon is the Online connection. If the mode is active, the icon will be lit-up in Light Blue. If inactive, there will be a red slash over the icon. 18) Tuning Specifics (modified from v1.5 FAQ) Tuning for all cars are as follows. - Engine, Drive Train - STEP-1 Mechanical LSD STEP-2 Light Flywheel STEP-3 Reinforced Clutch STEP-4 High-flow Turbine STEP-5 Port Grinding STEP-6 Bore Increase STEP-7 Large-caliber Turbine (Turbo car), Full Balance removing (NA cars) - Intake/Exhaust, Cooling System - STEP-1 Air Cleaner STEP-2 Sports Catalyst STEP-3 Large Caliber Throttle STEP-4 Oil Cooler STEP-5 EX Manifold STEP-6 Large-capacity Radiator STEP-7 Large-scale Intercooler - Suspension & Wheels - STEP-1 Racing Brake Pad STEP-2 Mesh Hose STEP-3 High-performance Suspension STEP-4 Reinforced Stabilizer STEP-5 Reinforced Suspension Arms STEP-6 Big Brake Calipers STEP-7 Large Diameter Brake Rotor - Bodywork - STEP-1 Tower Bar STEP-2 Front Ladder Bar STEP-3 Rear Ladder Bar STEP-4 Roll Bar STEP-5 Lightening Lv1 STEP-6 Lightening Lv2 STEP-7 Spot weld increase - Electronic Components (ECU) - STEP-1 Hyper-ground Wiring STEP-2 Racing Plugs STEP-3 Dry Batteries STEP-4 ROM Rewriting STEP-5 Boost Improvement STEP-6 Sub Computer STEP-7 Full Computer For certain cars, there are special installation upgrades available for choice. To answer the common question, regardless which roll cage you install for RX-7 Type R, Step 7 Engine will always be Kyoko's Single Turbo upgrade. 19) How to attack a corner in IDAS5 ? - Most corner in IDAS5 need to be taken at 2nd Gear ! - Cornering speeds approx 60-90kmh ! - Cornering with less steering (wheel) angle is desired ! Official Tutorial [Jap] http://initiald.sega.jp/ind5/lounge/column01_01.html Basically we (BRAKE! and Downshift to 2nd Gear at the same time) until the proper corner speed, turn the steering wheel lightly, and then accelerate only when you are OUT! of the corner ( Not during cornering ! ) You may say that your exit speed will be faster if you start accelerating during cornering but then your acceleration during the straight will be slower because of the "tire management system" / traction and such ( Welcome to IDAS5 tongue.gif ) 20) Must we use the brakes ? - Sadly yes tongue.gif 21) Does Eraser & PC still work? - Sadly No sad.gif 22) How about SUPER ULTRA LATE BRAKING ? - Use it only when you are dozing off and forget there is a corner coming up, it helps you so that you won't hit the wall but your car will slide quite wide resulting a slower acceleration, but better than the penalty for hitting a wall 23) What are the different shift points in the game ? - Just shift when your car is over-reving 24) What is the best start-up for the game? - For TA keeps your rev at 1/4 and then accelerate when GO, as for Battle keep rev at 0 then accelerate when the count reach 1. 25) What car has the best start-up in the game ? - Most people say that this is the order 4WD > FR > MR > FF - This is shadow_z3ro experiment log so credits goes to him smile.gif Tested during a Battle on Irohazaka DW with boost off FT Subaru Impreza GC8 (4WD) Vs. FT Mazda MX-5 NB8C (FR) 1 : Both car full gas on countdown (Hot Start). The Impreza straight away lead by 2m 2 : Both car uses TA way of starting up. 1/4 gas on countdown. when there's another 1/3 seconds left to GO, full gas. The Impreza had a 1.5m lead over the MX-5. 3 : No throttle during countdown. After the word "GO" both stepped full gas, and the cars started out evenly. Shadow_z3ro tried this on a couple of different maps that has no line advantages on start-up, and the results are always the same. He then tried with a stock MR2 (FR) and a stock R32 (4WD). Same thing happens the R32 has the advantage. He then test a stock Supra (FR) with a stock R34 (4WD). Same results, with the 4WD taking the lead. In conclusion, only drive-train will affect the start-up whether your car has 5/6 Gear 26) What is Tire Management / Boost everyone is talking about ? - When you take a turn slower than usual on your earlier sectors, you will get a boost acceleration. Example ( Slow CP1 , CP2 & CP3 = Boosted CP4 ) 27) I'm new, what car do you think I should make first ? - Most people say that FF cars are best for starters, up to you smile.gif 28) What happens if I clear the games more than 10x ? - The CPU's difficulty maximum level is still 10 but your card will still print how many loops you have cleared, you can also choose the difficulty from 0 to 10 in the options menu 29) Links to discussion thread - [Boost Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37870 - [Technical Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37416 - [Time Attack Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37825 - [Show Off Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37631 - [Videos thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37429 --- Car's Thread --- - [Toyota Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37794 - [Mazda Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37795 - [Mitsubishi Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37798 - [Subaru Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37797 - [Honda Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37796 - [Nissan Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37990 - [Suzuki Thread] https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=38016 30) How to add more cars to your garage ? - As usual, play the game, choose the 2nd option ( The one that enables you to tune or change your car ), If you only have 1 car, there should be only 2 options for you. - 1st is your current car, and 2nd is some Japanese Words, select the 2nd one and the machine will ask you for coins to create a new car, simply enter the amount of coins set by your Arcade and you will go to the car selection menu. 31) How to delete / replace a car in the garage ? - This can only be done when you already have 3 cars in your garage. As usual, play the game, choose the 2nd option ( The one that enables you to tune or change your car ), highlight the car that you want to replace and press "VIEW CHANGE". Usually you press the "START" button if you want to select or tune your car. It will prompt you YES or NO, after selecting YES, the machine will ask you for coins to create a new car, simply enter the amount of coins set by your Arcade and you will go to the car selection menu. If you did not wish to create a new car yet, just don't insert any coins when they ask you for it. The slot will be empty when the counter reach zero. 32) Can we still turn off our car's head-lights ? - Yes, you are still able to do it, just press and hold the "START" button. 33) Story Mode Opponent List Unlocking is needed during the first round of Story Mode. All opponents are available 2nd round onwards. Beating Bunta is optional for story advancement. The official site calls that "issuing arcade". The name of the arcade that issued the license card and it can change upon next renewal if you renew it at other arcades. Opps, wrong. above info is for the one on the license card. The one in game just shows the arcade where you are playing at that moment, change when you play somewhere else. Just wanna check this tho: the home arcade (the one at the bottom of the screen before the race starts when it's showing ur car ..eg "SGP Zone-X White Sands)..how is that assigned? Same as home area, and can't be changed right? Like how they're not really that different, and the Single/Twin turbo thing that crops up in the mazda thread. |

IDW Jr. Member Group: Members Posts: 66 Member No.: 35,851 Joined: Jun 29th 2010 Location: Update Profile | Hi everyone..I am a player from HK.. The IDAS5 2.0 FAQ shown here should be the most informative and precise that I have ever seen..even some of which I don't know yet... and thanks for the effort of the great brothers!.. Hi JJ too, I am the guy that say hello to u last time at North Point Game World..though I have friends playing with at that moment and we don't talk much.. (BTW, the machine that you often play in North Point is actually the machine in TST, after TST has removed its IDAS5 machines, those 2 have been transfered to North Point and so combined to have 4 IDAS5 Machines) Since there is still some questions regarding to the information printed on card, an image would help explain a lot, I just simply upload the card of mine that is registered and played at an ONLINE machine store.. The home arcade is assigned under these 3 conditions: 1. When you register your EXP card (i.e. the conversion of EXP card to EXP V2 card), 2. When you renew you card upon the 150th "check" 3. When you buy and register a new EXP v2 card The home arcade is different from the fixed region, it can be changed depends on where you do the above three actions. For example, when I register my card in Game Station in Whampoa Garden in Kownloon, the home arcade would be printed as "GAME STATION" (the same as the IDAS5 overseas website state)... After I have the 150th "check", but I do the renew process in North Point Game World, then the home arcade would be changed to "GAME WORLD (NORTH POINT)"! Hope the above information would give answers to the question. This post has been edited by hkpoorguy on Jun 29 2010, 10:30 PM Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand) |

Good question! Unfortunately no. I believe he create both card from ver1.0, therefore there are 2 same name but different gender. For ver2.0, I do not know whether can create same name that was registered in ver2.0.

You should be able to. ID.net uses the card no. to verify your identity.

o, its actually 2 seperate cards..sorry for confusion.Information including the gender, name and region cannot be changed afterwards. BTW, since every card has a 11-digit unique card no. (i.e. the 50XXXXXXXXX), so it doesn't matter if you register cards using the exactly same name as your previous cards. The information will be stored sepeartely according to the card no. Thus, if you can't think of any other names for your cards, it would be fine to just use the same name as your previous card. @JJ, hi there the discussion atmosphere is reli good.. BTW, MK and VZ machines indeed lacks of maintainence and costly (HKD$4 per round)..nx time you arrive HK you can choose to go to North Point, Whampoa Garden, or Sea Dragon in Wong Tai Sin..the conditions of the machine would be better than those in MK and VZ.
