is there anyway that you can verify if a sim card ie north american will be compatible with the Japanese wifi system? the tablet i have already has a sim card in it but i dont know if it will be compatible when i do head over there.

Here's the play by play:
I picked up my gf. She asked what the plan was. I told her we were gonna go to Walmart first to pick up supplies, then rent a room in a hotel/motel (what is Best Western?).
