So, i'm interested in what people would say.

What is the most manliest thing you have done? Did you kill a human? Lift a car to help someone remove a flat tire? Drink gasoline only to have the energy to run one hundred miles?

For me, i'd say... shooting a few different guns, and getting almost a bullseye on a high powered rifle on my first few shots. (100 yards, but still!)

That or maybe 'saving' a few animals from a large brush fire that happened a decade or so ago near my town when crashing over at my friends house after a night of playing ID the night before.

Now this thread is easier for me to answer. I've changed a popped tire on my car before. In the dark.

...Where to start. Just this weekend I got my pinky stuck under the wheel of a car when the jack failed. It wouldn't stop bleeding for hours. Didn't break anything but I can say that for a split second, my pinky held up the weight of a car coming down on it. Before you ask for pics or it didn't happen, I do have pics.. they are gross and probably not appropriate for the forum.

I'll dole out the pointless machismo in small quantities as this thread develops- I drank a teaspoon of motor oil on a dare once.

Nailed a 12-inch steel plate from 700 yards away with an unmodified Mauser Kar98k on ironsights.

Joined the military, read reports of enemies killed because of my intel gathering, got zero medals/awards besides generic unit meritorious ribbons because all of it was during top secret joint service racks.

Does building a Chevy V8 count? Cause that's about as much as I've got so far.

Most rewarding/frustrating one was probably rebuilding a series 1 SA22C from the ground up in my garage, but getting the chance to man a Mk19 belt-fed grenade launcher was a pretty erectile dysfunction-curing experience. biggrin.gif

I pretty much live manliness, I was shooting guns and working on engines (both plural) this weekend. I rebuilt a long stroke steam hammer, I bet none of you can say that.

Not ours but similar:

That's manlier than most think. Anyone who's done that knows the sad excuse for a jack the OEM gives you is a BITCH.

It's not that bad... Had to use it twice: once in the day, once at night. It just takes more time, effort, and patience.

Never rebuilt an engine, but I'm currently removing one. Never used a gun either.

Once I get my firearms ID card I can help you with that smile.gif

Been thinking of taking a class at a firing range sometime so I can at least learn the basics with professional guidance.

My cousin taught me, out in a wide open plot of land, shot a glock, a 45, a shotgun and that rifle (It was last) It was fun. But I know its hella expensive for bullets and all that.

Not unless you're shooting something crazy. 9mm and 45 and shotgun shells are generally pretty cheap.

Accidentally cut myself with a half-serrated blade once, hit the artery on the knuckle of my index finger, bleed like a broken heart, but I casually cleaned myself up and put a bandage on it, not giving a fuck.

Infection? Stitches? Panic-induced stress? Fuck that; I don't have time for any of that.

I'm guessing classes are offered at most shooting ranges.

This is the one I was looking at a while back. Haven't really looked around, so you might find better places:

I've accused him of that. He denies it, but we know he's lying. Humble man is humble.
