And @ SKYLINE_32, best thing to do is learn how to 'work' the gears, if the revs drop too low, downshift and stay there until you start bumping the rev limiter, then shift back up, or if you shift down and imediatly hit the limiter, try introducing a form of Eraser to it to get those revs a little higher |

AYC and R3's were the only thing that kept the car on the road. also, the setup info was incomplete, for example, I needed racing intercooler and engine balancing. also, I didn't do any weight reductions, and no downforce either since it wasn't mentioned. I took the aids off, because they always slow me down. it is fast indeed, hitting 0'56, but 0'55 or lower are possible with some adjustments. the car was indeed squirming like eel in corners, mainly because of AYC, and even that didn't hide the tendency of understeering (caused by bit too stiff suspension, obvious when going over rumble strips. it also shuddered in corners.) all the time. due the nervous behaviour, the driving was not so relaxed and I couldn't concentrate on the lines because I tried to keep the car on the track. I'd say that this is 7+, 7½/10 car. some more time with finetuning will help this car to achieve it's true potential. I'll update my MR rocket in this post after getting some pics of it. Toyota MR2 1600 G-Limited SC'86 by MFT (6.2 miler) weight: 1005 kg hp: 165bhp torque: 213nm modifications: weight reduction stage 1, port polish, engine balancing, racing computer chip, racing brakes, brake balance controller, sports soft tyres, racing suspension, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, 1-way LSD BBC: 5/3 SR: 3.5/5.0 RH: 105/110 DBS: 4/6 DBRS: 6/8 camber: 2.5/2.0 toe: 0/3 Stab: 2/5 No flashy wing, no NOS, no race spec slicks.. This car is a sleeping beauty. It could handle even more power, but that would compromise the corner exit speed. both grip and drift are easily done with this setup. enjoy, and please, test and comment. i ran a 54 without weight reduction but I did have downforce. I tested both cars at el capitan. Both cars were very quick although I still need some more time to get used to the GT-R. El capitan race circuit normal. Kurei's EVO JGTC Proto- 1'37.xxx Fin toy's GT-R R32- 1' 40.xxx

It's tail happy under braking and pushes on the way out of turns. I made the changes below and ran a 51.167. It can drop some more time with them too. Give them a try I think you like them. The car was calmer to drive, but cutting the corners still caused loss of traction. abyways, I got all the way down to 0'53.7, which is satisfying achievement. but doesn't AYC and LSD cancel eachothers out? atleast they can not be active at the same time..? and I have probably the reason why my beloved 'R' is slower: it has less torque (580 versus 630), and it's bit heavier (about 50 kg). and that setup was made for fast tracks, not for Tsukuba.. maybe later today I have tome to create a setup for Tsukuba. Or Then I'll pull out MFT's secret trackday weapon, the ultimate R32.. This post has been edited by FinToy-83 on Feb 20 2007, 01:26 AM |

IDW Expert Member Group: Members Posts: 132 Member No.: 22,840 Joined: Jan 15th 2007 Location: northeast USA | FinToy-83 I only played around a little with the setting. I was tring not to change to many things. First the braking then the exit push and maxed the wings but leaving the same gap front to back. With AYC you can only change the front diff as the rear is used by the AYC and will change with your front diff setting. I have ran a 45.4xx with a full tuned(stage 4 and R5's) R34 VspecII Nur at Tsukuba with TSM set at 1. Some day need to put the org turbo on it and see how it runs. |

I'm just trying to max-out my VSII at GVS. in-team challenge, you see. we, underdogs, drive 509/510bhp R32's, and the rest of team uses lower powered R33's and R34's because they have torque advantage. then again, we have weight advantage. this far, we're in the lead.. Well, the average time around the Nurburgring in a race averages about 7'10'xxx to 7'20'xxx. I had to compromise some of the suspension , else, I'll be bouncing all over the bumps and uneven surfaces... Maybe I'll try doing a 'comfort' car.

The Driving Specialist. Group: Advanced Members Posts: 1,429 Member No.: 15,603 Joined: Jan 26th 2006 Location: Michigan | I tested the 'Race' version at Tsu and got a 0'52.xxx, so its not bad, but it could be much better You need to tweak the Suspension to pull out the full potential of it in the corners, and also changing your Downforce to different levels would bring it up a few notch's too, i don't know much about BMW's and tuning them so your on your own there, but just some advice, If it can be adjusted, try adjusting it, don't always leave it at default, unless it works for you there. Anyway im currently thinking about trying a new addition, but i can't decide which car to do, some idea's i have are the Brembo Evo 5 (or 6, not sure), the Nismo R32, a 3000GT, or some type of FF *Added EDIT* i tried your variation of my evo stidriver, and the changes did make it calmer, and it runs smoother, i'll update my setup post, thanks This post has been edited by Kurei on Feb 20 2007, 06:20 PM |

and after posting that setup, I did evo model with 225bhp, no other changes.it still corners and turns like a champ, and brakes work just fine. this is the reason why I like MR's. They're so well balanced in most situations. but if you're driving it like a moron, it'll either understeer to kittylitter or snap back and bite your butt off. with downforce, full modifications and R1's it's able to beat tuner challenge in professional events. with mere 240bhp it might not shine on straights, but in the corners it leaves others bite its dust. and I suggest doing 3000GT. Nismo R32 is notorious for it's racecar like stiffness and stubborn understeer. besides, the lack of torque and high-revving nature of the engine make it difficult to drive. and still, my friend clocked 1'47.xxx around GVS with it. I played around a little with the suspension to remove it and did. But my change slow the car down some. I may play with it some more later. |

The Driving Specialist. Group: Advanced Members Posts: 1,429 Member No.: 15,603 Joined: Jan 26th 2006 Location: Michigan | Well its seems that i've lost motivation to tune anything new, no clue why, i was looking around and found the Audi Le mans Quattro, and i thought that would make a bad*ss German TA car, but it turns out to be quite the opposite, heh... Then i thought "why not try a light-weight low-power car like that MR?", so... I decided to try the Cap as i have never tried it before, and its a fun little car to get crazy with, but nothing special, so that sorta put its own flame out Then i just went to Autumn ring with my Impreza just to cruise, tinker'd a little, and what do you know, i find myself in the middle of a break-through with it, so now im preoccupied with it, so idk when i'll put out another tuner But whenever i do it might be a FF, im looking for something interesting to tune, not just another High-profile, already done sports car |

ROFL! I have done ultimate chav-edition of it.. black, chrome rims, huuge wing, high rear, low front, everything as stiff as possible.. talk about undriveable.. I also did the rest of power modifications to my MR2 (247bhp), and it's still just as fun to drive with same setup as earlier. I also did the rest of the weight reductions.
