Currently, we have lots of links for members' contact information (AIM, MSN, Skype, etc.) but some of them are outdated like Yahoo and ICQ. Why don't we replace one of those fields with a new entry for a more modern service that many of our members utilize - Facebook? I think ICQ is the least-used of all these. Of course, you could just add a new option if you wanted to retain them. So how does this idea sound?

Those are for chat clients. Facebook is not a chat client.

Members are more than welcome to use their facebook site in the website field on their profile.

I like your idea, Facebook is the way I stay in contact with most of the ppl I know from all over the world.

For now, that's how the system works. We could implement more fields in the profile page (or eliminate old ones), but it would be a matter of privacy. Some members here do not want to be known by their real names, and we have to respect that.

We'll set up a vote page in the near future to see what the people want.

I just did what you mentioned in your first post and used the website field.

For me, I have no problem with my real name, Silec is my real one

But yeah, perhaps not everyone is like me in that case.

...So just don't post your real name.

Your facebook page shows your name. Keep up.

Then don't put your Facebook on there? Seems like a pretty simple concept.

You CAN change your facebook profile name, albeit only once.
