Since the server fees are so low nowadays ( $15 a month is not something that should be hard to fund with no hit on Perry's pockets ), I think it would be possible to fund the site rather than just wait for the occasional donor.

How about setting up one of the following:

1. Donation rewards in the forms of official Idforums merchandise, or

2. Straight up selling Idforums merchandise to fund the forums directly.

I am thinking baseball caps, tee-shirts, and so on.

The first option would be easier to set up with no tax headaches, but the second one set up properly would be a potential tax shelter for Perry ( talk about killing two birds with one stone ).

I like the idea a lot, but where would we make the merch? Would the manufacturing costs outweigh the potential profits?

I have an idea I was waiting for IDW to get into the red to reveal... looks like it's time. Expect a post within a week!

"Profit" would be very low, but it should not be hard to make $15 of profit.
