If anything is pissing you off from strange japanese players you run into, post it here.

My gripes:

dumb symbols in their names
men using girl avatars
giving you a 200km headstart before they start their car (wtf?)

the last one I've run into on iro especially, and i've never lost to one of these weirdos, don't know what they're trying to prove.

i believe some of the us drivers use girl avatars. i do, its better to have something to look at while your beating them. the whole headstart thing is just bad lag on there end, ive noticed that problem for a while. but if there good they will catch up.

if you need something to look at buy some pinups for your wall.

lol, well the point of the avatar is to create yourself. just seems weird to me to use a girl one, next thing you know you'll be wearing women's underwear.

Why would men using girl avatars piss you off?

Because I wanna know who I'm racing, that's the point of the avatars in this game. Obviously too many people have no problem misrepresenting themselves.

If you guys use them, obviously you're gonna defend it, but it's still weird.

I know but why would you care if your really racing a dude or a girl? Its just a game. All you should worry about is the race, not the little faces in the avatar. Plus for goodness sake, the majority of the people in this forum uses girl avatar and there a guy, does the piss you off? Lol.

I look like Joshima from 4th stage actually. I'm in my 40s and a Doctor. I'm obviously racing with a bunch of kids who like dressing up as girls on IDES all day. I'm gonna go take a hot shower. I guess it's an Otaku thing I just don't understand. I don't see how it could ever be a cool to pretend to be a girl.

Cause if I really did get schooled by a chick, It would be nice to know. That would probably make my whole day. But I seriously doubt I've run into any real girls on there.

I don't know, do you guys think it's "teh funnay" to beat someone and have them think you're a fragile girl who can game? I just wanna know why you do it.

Okay, so I'm comparing a Mr. Potato Head style avatar system, where the point is to create your digital self for representation during races (you know, to make the races as real as possible), and you're comparing a JPG image on a messageboard. If people here posted their real pics as their avatars, I would too. But I don't see anyone here doing that.

But anyway, duuuuuuude, you're using a GIRL, lol, I don't see how you don't see the humor in that. Stand up in your college class or highschool class and tell people about that, see if they think it isn't weird.

Obviously everyone in this thread does it, so you're all gonna defend yourselfs and not agree with me. So I don't expect to be high-fived.

Besides, when you start a new account, doesn't it ask you if you're male or female? That's why it cracks me up you guys choose female...

On the internet there is no gender by default.
Wanting to know someones sex is something we impose online to give it social structure like everyday life, others would be age, education, nationality etc. etc. Free the net, return to anon status! etc...

Doesnt really bother me if a guy is playing a girl avatar, infact wasnt there some stuff floating around years ago about japanese girls using male avatars online to avoid attention? Guess it goes both ways hehe.

As for the symbols, well i dont mind, its just a name that flashes up on screen at the start of each race, besides, i just feel lucky to be playing this japanese game, if the core player base of japanese players want todo something, go ahead i say, we're hardly in the position to complain about it right?

I guess you guys aren't understanding the whole boost thing.

Them sitting back like 200m is not lag (usually) or them being nice and giving you a head start.

It's them abusing the boost function, people do it all the time in the arcade version.

i hate once they realize they will not beat me (boost off) they immediately disconnect. EVERYTIME. hahaha

Why does the avatar matter..It's a game lol! people make it so it looks cool. Why would you want to make your avatar to look like yourself? Be unique! There really is no debate to this topic though. Personal preference.

The female avatar for a male player is a double boost. Beating the opponent and watching your chick pic on screen whilst beating it off... dude, thats a double beater!!! XD
