Dont know if its common, never heard of it.

Yes, I change engine oil, brakefluid, axle and gear oil every year. And it looked fine, except for the metal parts. wink2.gif

What gear ratio did you have in mind?

Pretty common problem. Get your replacement final gear and put this in as well.

My rear axle's whining but it still works i suppose. Stupid me, changing a
75w140 torco lsd oil for a 75w90 redline and whacked it up to 200kmh+

And the main reason for it (my speculation) is from hard driving and abusing the drivetrain. (Clutch kicking, Shock loading your transmission with bad driving styles.)

I do track my TE71 and drift with it. But i harmed my drivetrain during a touge session. Underpowered with not much torque i clutch kicked my car with bad bushings at the trailing arms.
Right after clutch kicking i immediately heard whining noise coming from my rear axle.

And since then i know that the damage has been done. But it still holds after various touge and track session since i only do power-over and strictly no clutch kicking with 40 psi in the tires and 13" rims.
