Where did you buy it from?/There's your problem.

You find me a Garand for $600 or a 1903 for less than $1000. Seriously, why would I spend $1000 on a 1903 when I could spend less and get a Kar98k and ammo?

'Cause you don't live in Guntucky like I do. Amusing/sad part is if I probably could find one at one of the gun shops anywhere between Metro Louisville and Fort Knox, Knob Creek being my best bet.

I also don't know...I suppose it depends: How much do you really want a Garand or an M1903? Not thinking of logic and taking costs into account, I'm talking about emotional want.

I don't have an emotional want for either, I'm just interested in WWII firearms. So I'd love to eventually have a 1903, a Garand and an Enfield. It's just that right now, that's money.

EDIT: Oh and a Finnish M39...and a Swiss K31... awesome.gif

Armory much? tongue.gif

Shit. This year will actually be the first year I don't spend my Federal tax return on a firearm. Last year was the Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion, before that the Taurus PT-1911R, and before that the DPMS Panther Arms Mod. A-150. 2 out of 3 are firearms that I'm absolutely satisfied with as my desired wants, so if I'm going to spend any more money, it's going to be on parts and mods for what I already have...as if that hasn't been done already.

Or a PS90. Whichever comes first. laugh.gif

That's why I was so happy to spend mine on firearms this year. It's a welcome change from spending it on...you know, expensive Japanese plastic. tongue.gif

But yes, an armoy of WWII firearms would make me a very happy man. Then I'd just need that Thompson/Center Contender Encore G2, a 1911 (as required by being American), a .45 Schofield, and an SVD.

Then I'm pretty sure I could call it a day. laugh2.gif

Sounds like me on a Saturday night, but replacing porn DVDs with houseboys.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Bought an HKS wastegate actuator for an S15 GT28R turbo. Somehow the actuator on my car broke when I was drifting, and the wastegate won't open anymore. My car just shoots straight to max boost, even when I bypass my boost controller...
It probably had something to do with the gasket between the turbo elbow and the turbo developing a big leak, so I bought a replacement gasket (and a new turbo elbow and downpipe) to go along with it biggrin.gif
Oh, and I bought tickets to Finland with my girlfriend yesterday. I'm going to see Rally Finland 2014!! dribble.gif

Decided to fulfill my childhood quota for the week with some impulse buys off of Amazon. I really wanted to get the original OVAs now that the blurays are out here in the US...but they're so expensive!! Seriously, I refuse to pay $50+ for 12 episodes. I just cannot justify such a purchase. $35, sure, I can do $35. But this purchase was $55 for an entire 26-episode series and three movies. That's why I just can't justify spending $50+ for the OVAs alone. Maybe I'll find them for reasonable prices at AX.

I really love the Buster Machines individually, to be honest. They look awesome. Sure, combined, it's super awesome...but I love the aesthetic of the individual units. But wait, something looks off about Buster Machine #1...

...Ah.

Pretty disappointed. Damage like this goes beyond the 'minor' issues described in the auction. For reference, here is the auction description (with a link to a gallery containing the auction images):

While this is an opened item, the contents are in good condition.
All accessories are included, but the box has some minor marks and defects.
The accessories included are all that are pictured above.

There is a chance that minor defects and/or dirt not pictured above are present.
The item condition description here is, at best, my personal opinion of its condition.
Those expecting perfection or otherwise nervous individuals please refrain from bidding.

Yeah, so that's pretty not cool. If that were on an English bid site I might cock an eyebrow, but the Japanese tend to, in general, have a complex about damaged boxes where they devalue the product despite the good condition. I don't care about boxes, I care about contents. Sadly, this time around there was rather major damage. Sigh.

Decided to check out the local second-hand bookstore due to boredom, ended up getting a pretty good selection of books for less than $20. The Alien book in particular, it's all about the set design and mechanical props that they built for the films. biggrin.gif

As for RG Exia, I see they announced a Trans-AM colors version...I might have to get that. dry.gif

The book on the right was from Nagomi Web, and I applaud them for it. I ordered it at 5PM on one day, paid by 10PM that same day, and it was shipped from Japan by 1AM. Same-day doujin shipping, whaaaaaaaaaaaat? Talk about speedy cerviche!

The book on the left (and the subsequent bag on the right) were actually ordered through an agent from China. Fun story: said agent never notified me that it had shipped. So I got my orders from all over the place--Japan, Colorado, and unbeknownst to me China--all on the same day (the same day as my previous 'GET' post). However, because I hadn't been notified that it had shipped and because the company on the shipping label wasn't one I recognized (and sounded like a tech company) I ignored the package and said it must've been something my dad ordered instead.

The next morning I was getting ready for work and noticed a cute bag on the kitchen table. In my natural groggy morning state I didn't recognize it--despite the text--until I looked reaaaaally close and saw the little picture of Hideyoshi on it. Then my morning-dulled brain started to slowly click some gears together.

Cute bag on table-->picture of trap character-->oh it's that thing I bought from China-->but why is it on the table opened-->.......oh god it was what was in the package I thought was dad's-->DAD OPENED IT.

I laughed really, really hard. It absolutely made my morning. laugh2.gif My mother later reported that my dad's reaction was, "I don't think this is mine... Nothing I order has these characters on it." derp.gif

Kibbles n' bits!

Ended up spending less than $20 for three posters and 2 key chains (Apollo and Athena) at a local con. Pictures up in a bit.

And I had to buy a K&N Filter after hulk-crushing.... A K&N filter during an oil change. $25...

PURCHASE OF THE YEAR! I finally found Nobel Gundam. After months and months of looking I found her tucked in the store shelf after Fragger said he couldn't find her! Now I can start building her and God Gundam! I can't wait, there are so many picture opportunities but now Shining Gundam is needed to go with Master Gundam so that I will have all the suits from G Gundam that matter to me. Add that to the Perfect Strike, Space Brothers, RX-78 2.0, Guntank, Star Build Strike and hopefully Sinanju (planned purchase) and... dang it... I have a backlog of kits to build like N1!!!

And I finally gave in to temptation and got a mat for my Vanguard and Weiss cards. There Saber one caught my eye and I instantly loved it!

The shop I got Nobel from also gave me a set of random decals as a bonus. I don't know why, but SCORE! N1, can you identify all these decals? The only ones I recognize are the Earth Federation, White Base, Zeon... and that's it actually... My gundam lore is weak. derp.gif

Hah! It's working! The thread will be buried in SMUUUUUUT! Well since this is all but one of the last things I have pending for the next month or so (and don't worry, that last thing is also smut), may as well just dump all of them at once. Huzzah!
