they already beaten 2nd line and the "race" between Shinigani and Ikeda si over too they were about to start the Ikeda, Keisuke race and you all know Obuyama will be very quickly defeated by Takumi

One word "Emotionless", the characters looks like statues, no many moves, repeating the
same camera and scene. Where is the part when Bunta and Ken meet in the the lake of Akina.
5th stage should be called Ryouske stage...Cutting off a lot of scenes talking about the the Supra
Driver and the battle Between the JZ80 and the FD (They both were using left footbraking) no even
mentioned. The 2D animation is dissapointing (Sometimes characters have bigger/smaller eyes, different faces)
Fuhimiro pants are funny again...

You can see FD x FC (with carbon hood), you See AE86 x Impreza (bunta) and bunta is ahead, FC x Skyline i guess, a black one, AE86 x FC also

so if this scenes are on the op. they for sure will happen in the 5th stage.

ep 7 should be the Ikeda/ Keisuke Battle

Obuyama should be beaten 2 min of footage ...


ep 8 Ryouske unveils the pimped FC and his race with Shinigani starts

ep 10 should be the NSX race

ep 11-12 the Shin race

I look forward to the duel between takumi and shinji,as it will be one of the highlights of the anime and the season of Initial D

A while back I read the Manga and my question is, will they be showing Ryosuke last race vs Hojo?

The continuation of the 86 VS MR-S race actually started pretty good. Getting a racing scene with Eurobeat right off the bat was a welcome surprise and I liked that after some of the really floaty looking cornering in Act.4 - like the tires weren't actually in contact with the road and the cars were actually skillfully disguised hovercrafts (non-flashback drifts set to "When The Sun Goes Down" excluded) - they toned down the floatyness this time around (although they did also decide to really speed up the driving as well after keeping the speeds relatively toned down for the first four episodes.). The less weird looking cornering certainly made the racing more fun to look at. And, with some help from Kai's all-out attack, they also managed to get some intensity going in a race scene for once (not that the last part of the race with Omiya didn't come close on a first-time-viewing).
It lost some of that awesomeness later on though. Takumi begins his attack, the drift animations get exaggerated again, then Takumi pulls off some teleportation shit in the middle of a drift (they seriously couldn't find a better way to depict the Fujiwara Zone? Even Act.4 was more subtle about it outside of the flashback scene), then Kai tries to keep up and ends up performing quite likely the most controlled mid-engined spin-out in existence.
End of race.

The scene in Act.6 where the FD and Supra take an S-turn in an unusually well animated manner and "Crazy on Emotion" starts playing was also the start of something awesome though. There wasn't any floatyness to the way the tires moved, the cars had a sense of rotational inertia to their drifts, the music; sound design; camera work; etc. really came together well - the driving here looked awesome and this was where this race finally turned intense.
And then Minagawa taps the FD's bumper and gives up. (Damn it Minagawa! The race was finally getting awesome!)
The only weird things about the animation here were the one or two zero-counter drifts where they actually kept steering inwards a little throughout the entire drift (wouldn't that just slow you down? I'm thinking that with the car already drifting at even a tiny angle, the front tires would already be at optimal slip-angles and wouldn't need to be turned inwards). That aside, the car animations in this scene were excellent (although still seriously sped up)

And the scene where the Shinigami shows up was put together a lot better than I'd expected. The music fit really well, there wasn't any floatyness to the cars at all, the times the R32 rear-ended the Z33 caught me off-guard, the animation actually made this chase look really dangerous (it actually looked like the Z was on the edge of control; and not simply switching between drift mode and grip mode), etc.
Yet another intense scene. If they can keep this up, the Shinigami VS Ryousuke race might even end up being something for me to look forward to.

In the Manga... Kai was able to go Side by Side with Takumi... but here... no. It's like they deliberately made Kai lose his touch.

The flashback... Ryosuke's hair DIDN'T CHANGE AT ALL. SHould'nt it be still the cool slick helmet haired RYosuke that time with dark-dark navy blue highlights?

And for the record: Eiji Kubo laughing = Touge Version of Kitami Jun

And I still find Go Hojo's mole quite disturbing, personally speaking. XD

Shame how episode 6 talks about Keisuke's Pride by the title but the moment only lasted 5 minutes XD

Lastly, I've noticed at some renderings; though the brand of Keisuke's wheels are different; hey highly resemble the Yokohama Advan RG-II's at some angles like at ep 6

LOL! They continue to remember Shingo and even re-rendered his artwork in the flashback yet they still neglect to return or recall Nakazato until later at the final race XD

Is it me or is Kenji's back hair getting longer?

And final note after watching ep 6: Why does Ikeda's 350Z sound similar to Takumi's 86?

He has one but it's less obvious. Here in the anime... all I can say whenever I see Go Hojo is:

I was looking forward to the Supra race, but it ended up being a disappoint for me. Compared to the manga it seemed like there was way too much dialogue between Fumihiro and Ryosuke. I know there was a lot in the manga. But the in manga, each car movement takes a panel instead of a second or two of animation like in the show.. So I guess that's why it seemed like it didn't show much racing action. If that makes sense to anyone.. That's the best I can do to put it in words lol

Dick move by Keisuke with the unnecessary braking on Supra driver to get him to turbo lag.

Like when Smiley used a similar brake feint on Keisuke.

I don't think they delete the Shinigami Ryousuke race. Otherwise you wouldn't see them race in the opening.
And Matsumoto was asked by Ryosuke to tune his FC for his anticipated encounter with Rin Hojo. You even saw that in ep 3 so.
I don't think they will cut out the Shinigami race!

WTH. The races finished within 7 minutes of playtime.Wtf just happened there.The part where Kai awakens to the braking competition escalated WAY TOO QUICKLY.
They could've extended the races longer.

I wish there was more to the breaking duel, it was over so quick.

There was no substance to kt's victory then, the guy just backed off at the last second.

Keisuke broke the guy's fighting spirit. He didn't have enough tire left to fight another round. If you ever race for real, you would know just how hard it is to keep going full throttle for an entire race. Especially after being passed. It's not like a video game. It takes serious mental concentration to maintain that sort of pace for more than a few laps.

since Takumi revealed that he wants to go pro I think it's safe to say that Bunta's last favour will be some connection in the pro racing world for Tak

Well Takumi told Bunta one hand steering was easier with the Impreza than the 86. So perhaps Bunta made some adjustment that'd make it easier for Takumi to one hand steer with the 86?

Thus.. was the plot intentionally so (to make Minagawa a proud person and chose to expose himself to risk to chase.. then try to win on the 2nd leg?) to level the playing field to give Keisuke a winning chance?

Because it seems then Project D won mainly by virtue of "luck" that their opponent had overconfidence and wanted to observe them.
