Oh. Nomakewon will be happy. Feels bad man I really wish I had a PS3 right about now. This game is too awesome. Switching between Strike Freedom and Quan[T] right now. I'm glad that Strike Freedom doesn't suck for once.

Dude you have no idea how excited I was when I saw that scan of BD-1 getting added. Pikachu_Fragger was over at my place when it happened, he can tell you. LOL. But yeah, apparently they switched from the whole "releasing these four MS on 12/22" to "we're releasing these four MS as DLC, and the first two DLC will be Arche and BD-1 on 12/22." So maybe Freedom will be January's DLC? Cannot WAIT to stomp all over people with Blue Destiny. EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention that it also shows that they're willing to add DLC MS for series that weren't present in the game originally. This gets my hopes up for things like... oh, I dunno... Gundam Wing TV? RX-78-4/5/6? Also, the second scan proves that the game itself will be getting updated, which was another thing that people said wasn't going to happen. Dammit Bamco, stop getting my hopes up and making me not regret buying the game! Basically, it says that Network Mode will be getting a free update (as it should be). They're adding ranked matches, the ability to get points (I'm thinking for Trial Mission Mode, but it could just be for the new ranking system), and the ability to do tag-team matches with your friends. That should alleviate the rage that some of us have had playing online and getting teamed up with some random scrub. My body and wallet are ready. Bring it on, Bamco. Bring it on. If you feel like waiting over a year for another port, then by all means sit back and enjoy the fun that the Japanese players are having while you cry at home with nothing to do. Meanwhile, Famitsu seems to be showing quite well that BandaiNamco is fully willing to provide updates and roster increments to the PS3 game. Full Boost is kinda old news, by the way... you only just now saw it? It was revealed last month and has been on the official EXVS website for over a week. Really, I think the difference here is that as opposed to the PS2 and PSP where once the game is released that's all there is to it, on PS3 the developers have a chance to keep the game fresh via network updates. Yes, they could just release it and say that enough is enough, but they're not doing that. I think we should see what they have to offer. I mean, come on. Blue Destiny. 'Nuff said. |

Efreet Custom? It's never appeared in any VS series, but it's been playable in other games. It's been in Lost War Chronicles for PS2, the SD Gundam G-Generation series (PS2/PSP/Wii) and I seem to recall another game it was in for Wii that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. EDIT: The Wii game is "0079 MS Sensen," and the Efreet was also in the Gundam Battle series for PSP. An Efreet recently appeared in Gundam Unicorn episode 4 (along with practically every Zeon MS ever) so it would be pretty cool if they added it via DLC later. Yuu needs a rival! That way he can say the only line he had in Encounters in Space: NO, NIMBUS!!! Also, video for the DLC is up on the main website: http://www.b.bngi-channel.jp/gdexvs/download.html

Crappy Chinese site stealing info from Japanese blogs without bothering to give source. Thankfully my Google-fu is strong, so here we go. The original source for this information is from 2ch, so take from that what you will. It doesn't mean it's not accurate, but at the same time it is a message board. Sources: http://toro.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/arc/1323185568/ www.alpha-st.co.jp/column/clm_153.html www.alpha-st.co.jp/column/clm_154.html First off, it looks to me like Full Boost is just an upgrade to EXVS Arcade. It's not the gigantic change we're used to from "DX" games. That is, things like AvZ->AvZII+ and GvG->GvGN+. There are some minor changes to the system itself but otherwise it looks to work the same as the old game. It is adding in mobile suits that we already are getting on PS3 via DLC. Though it does announce some MS that weren't announced for PS3, keep in mind that the full DLC release schedule has not been announced. There were not that many additions listed for the MS roster on Full Boost so far, so it's entirely possible that the MS they have announced will be added. Basically, what I'm trying to say is... it looks like Full Boost is just bringing the arcade version of EXVS into line with the PS3 version. It doesn't look like it's going to fundamentally change the game itself. I'm hopeful that I'm right, because that would be an excellent move. It also explains why there was no location testing for Full Boost and why there is less than four months between its announcement and its full release in arcades. Anyway, enough speculation. Here's what's been posted. MS Added: -Zeong -Gyan -The-O -Freedom Gundam -Strike Noir -Dynames -Blue Frame Astray 2nd L -Gundam Throne (Doesn't say which, but I'm guessing Zwei) -Gundam Stargazer -Blue Destiny Unit 1 Note that The-O, Freedom, Dynames, Blue Frame, Throne Zwei and BD-1 are already in EXVS for PS3 (Zwei is an NPC in Trial Mission Mode). That means the only real 'new' ones are Zeong, Gyan, Strike Noir and Stargazer. It's entirely possible that they'll get added as DLC, which would make the PS3 and arcade versions even in terms of their roster. However, there were changes made to existing MS, so let's jump into that as well. Changes to existing MS: -RX-78-2 Summon now summons a Core Fighter and/or Guntank instead of just Guntank. Doesn't specify if it's both or one at a time or what the condition is. -Nu Gundam Now has a Burst Attack called "Nu Last Shooting." -Gundam DX Subweapon is now summoning Airmaster Burst and Leopard Destroy. -Wing Zero Custom Apparently the charged main weapon is now twin buster rifle, and the special main is now rolling twin buster rifle. They're reversed from EXVS. -Gouf Custom Now has a Burst Attack where he rapidly attacks with the heat rod. According to the article, while there were still units in the demo without Burst Attacks, the final version of Full Boost would include Burst Attacks for all units. That's the important stuff. There were minor other details listed (such as ZZ Gundam being able to summon Zeta Zaku ROFL) but that's the basics. We'll see how Bamco handles this one.

Kind of looks that way. It appears to be a minor upgrade from the previous game. Some new suits, adding missing features to old suits (for instance, it was kinda BS that the attract movie for Gundam Seed Destiny showed Infinite Justice using METEOR when it couldn't in-game which has been fixed in Full Boost), etc. It doesn't look like a fundamentally different game with completely different mechanics (SEE: Gundam vs Gundam -> Gundam vs Gundam NEXT), it just looks like a minor refresh. I know that business-model-wise it would make more sense to then sell Full Boost as a console port a year from now, but I'm still holding out hope that they'll continue to update the PS3 version of EXTREME VS instead. That they apparently announced "no plans to have a console release for Full Boost" is where my hope comes from. They've never missed a chance for a console port. Why start now? Because this is their first PS3 game, which means it's the first game they can actually continuously update after its release. Can't do that on PS2 and PSP. So yeah, crossing my fingers. Why isn't it the 22nd already?

ShiMACHaze Group: Advanced Members Posts: 19,542 Member No.: 5,394 Joined: Feb 5th 2005 Location: Drydock | Okay! So we have here a shitty picture of a new scan for Extreme VS Full Boost! Most of it is stuff we already knew, but it does clarify one point from the Alpha Station leak as well as show off a new confirmed unit! So now we know that the "Gundam Throne" Alpha Station was referring to was Throne Drei, so woot Nena is now a playable pilot. Kugyuuuuuu~! Also, if you look carefully in the bottom-right corner you spot a mobile suit that looks a little off. At first you might thing it's the Delta Plus, but the shield is wrong. That's because it's the RX-81 from the PS3 game Battlefield Record 0081. Yet more side-story MS being added!? I LOVE IT! Should be fun to see where this goes. Will update once we have a clearer scan. |

I am quite on the edge of buying a cheap one on eBay for $30 and replace the buttons and the joystick with Sanwa parts. The only concern that I have before I go and buy a fightstick is that, is it mappable? Like can I change the buttons and change what they do? I still haven't got my copy, after a month has gone by. I don't use an arcade stick and unless anything's changed NomakeWan doesn't use one either. I feel like the controls are tight enough on the controller that I don't need one. This post has been edited by Ethos on Jan 12 2012, 09:25 PM

Never mind I just got a Hori fightstick for $20 from a good friend of mine since he has another fightstick already. I've played the actual Gundam Extreme vs arcade when I went to Japan for my vacation to Yokosuka. Personally I like the arcade stick feeling on how it feels "natural". I really am not sure on how to explain it but I hope you know what I mean. Hopefully this thread doesn't turn into a debate between controllers and arcade stick since I brought it up. Oh well thanks for the reply. EDIT: Do any of you guys still play this game? This post has been edited by VileFCboy on Jan 22 2012, 09:52 PM

Right here. Thoroughly disappointed by the lack of DLC but I suppose the 'plus' of it is I now have all the DLC. I'm actually surprised. I mean, Bamco is still releasing monthly DLC for iDOLM@STER which came out before EXVS, yet EXVS only got three DLC packages? What's up with that? I mean sure, okay, Full Boost is location testing as of right now and will be released in April... but so what? Come on, stop being stingy. Give those of us who paid to have the game some love. Oh well. Anyway, still play, still laugh my ass off every time I try to join an online Shuffle match using Gottrlatan and get kicked/banned. Gee I wonder why? I just wish I lived closer to my friends and/or my friends actually had a PS3 & the game. It sure would make things a lot easier. For now, though, I switch between messing around on EXVS and playing iDOLM@STER. Warning you guys right now, don't get into the latter game. It eats souls.

I agree dude, I was especially dissappointed that since they're done with the patches for this game, that means no custom bgm during online. Also I do wish I had someone I knew in person that have this game. One of my friend got the game but he sold it when he had the game for only 2 weeks. A rage quitter... I do get quite kicked occassionally due to my lack of skills. GP01fb haters...

I play it when Nomake Wan is down south! Still can't get enough of this game. Hilariously enough, OO Gundam is starting to grown on me. Freedom was a little disappointing sadly, but I think that's just because I need to get better with him. His movement options are great, but they seem difficult to master. Can't wait to play it later today! Gonna be awesome./

Quan[T] was regarded as a "high-tier" suit along with X-1FC, Master and Strike Freedom. You'll generally see them a lot...especially Master. Personally I'm just glad that the suits I like are considered "low-tier" because I can use them online without getting yelled at or hated on. Sadly there are a lot of people who play fighting games and only pay attention to tier lists rather than just, you know, playing the game. Thankfully, everyone I know plays the game to have fun and use suits that they enjoy. It's fun. It's just sometimes...frustrating to play online.
