the aftermarket support fot he Z31 isn't great..but they're definitely awesome cars.

There WAS a market for the car. Being so old and no one really fixing them up, the market got killed. Youll be hard pressed to find a company like HKS or Greddy coming out with anything for that car. Everything will either have to be custom made or some used old part. Goodluck.

z31s can be modified greatly. True, the aftermarket isnt all that great, but you can find stuff. Try searching through our forums & look at all the modded cars. Heres some links to a FAQ about our cars.....

me personally, I run mid to low 13's. Figuring Im putting down around 250hp & havent spent all that much on the car. Easily runs 10-15psi w/out IC. You dont ahve to "fab" everything you get. Jim Wolf, Stillen, and other manufacturers that were around in the 80s still sell new turbos, ECUs, etc for the car. you can also find suspension & body kits too. collaborate on our forums at z31.com or 300zx.com to hear more. My website has plenty z31 links... http://www.geocities.com/joeyfeets/nissan.html

I like your wheels! lol. Z31 is my least favorite all all Z's (Z's and ZX's) but it's still pretty cool.

naw but I like the z31s better than the z32s. some of the 90-96 z's with body kits look good, but I like the 80s better. especially the 87-89s...... (guess which one mine is) biggrin.gif

200zr worship.gif

there was 2 at the national convention this year. very nice cars.

but yeah you can do lot to the typical Z31t, the motor is pretty tuff and quite a few ppl toss on a I/E/MBC

but i guess if MrK likes them they are ok.

Z32 with BKs to me look like ass, im a stock nazi.

240's are the best.

I don't like the Z31s too much. It's heavy, poor drivetrain, and hard as hell to work on. My brother's friend sold it because he spent too much damn money on it and just bought a Z32. The Z31's look good but go is more important than show.

Ill stick with the 240z wink2.gif Lighter and a bit shorter. Probably one of my favorite "old" cars, jsut a notch above the 69 mach 1 mustang. Then again im biased, as that was the car my father had.

i would love to have s30 280Z 2 seater 1976. birth year and all. swap in a SR or RB. that's getting more and more popular too. i have seen 2 SR swaps in fla.

granted i would also like a 240Z g nose too. but HAHA. yeah right.

i though the Z31s where easier to work on than the Z32s.

the first car i learned/tought myself to work on, was my Z32. so to me they are easy, well the NA's any ways.

youre damn right, I dont know what z31 that guy was working on to say z31s are harder. anything on a z32 takes longer & way more man-hours than a z31.

the z31 is heavy though, Ill give em that. the drivetraing isnt that weak. depends on the year/model z31 though. many of us have LSD & the same stock drivetrain that has lasted 20 years! i dont think thats weak at all......

oh yeah & RB shiro Z31 > all worship.gif

Is it me or does that look like a 240SX (180sx).......

no, 240s (180sx) look like 300 in that year. those ones around 89 still had fronts like our cars. but that Z front clip is consistent w/ the later model Zs (87up?). except for the FMIC, which didnt come stock on the z31s.

Posted by: Steve Oct 4 2004, 05:26 PM
I didn't say it was. I just said it looked like one.

Posted by: Joeyfeets Oct 4 2004, 05:45 PM
im just playin.... on my other board, the 240 guys and us 300 guys fight over whos better. and whos car looks like who. its funny.... i was just j/k around

Posted by: Steve Oct 4 2004, 06:03 PM
Me too......... yesh......... happy.gif.
In my opinon, the Z31 is an KO's car.

Posted by: Toshi Oct 4 2004, 06:19 PM
my personaly favorite is a red 240z i saw with an Sr20 and 400HP...thats what i would get. But nothing is wrong with the z31. Looks great i assume it handles well because its a nissan and well if jim wolf makes stuff for a car it has potential to be fast

So how much do those z31's weight? What type of suspenion do they have?

Can we all agree the 350z's suck? tongue.gif

Posted by: Jabberwocky Oct 4 2004, 09:00 PM
THe 350Z is actually kinda nice, and easily the better handling Z car.

Posted by: HaloZ Oct 5 2004, 01:29 AM
yeah but having single piston calipers on all the models other than the track line, sucks ass, and the g35 coup is much better for 2 k more. better lines and look. same LONGER wheel base and handles better.

It's ok......... G35's are better though.

Posted by: Joeyfeets Oct 5 2004, 05:07 PM
350s dont suck IMO... they handle way better than the stock z31 suspension. my car handles goood now but I had to upgrade many parts. plus, most of the z31s you can buy are still on stock OEM spring/shocks that are 20yrs old. theyre most often blown.

but the 350z is tight off the go, like your girlfriend was on prom night. smile.gif but seriously, I heard the ifini (g35) coupes had better skidpad & handling in general...... its just trips me out they call them skylines.

Yes, they (1984-1989 Nissan 300zx Z31) are the best funnest car around if you repair them to stock or bettter-than-stock condition. smile.gif
