sorry to say but u were ass dragging, ur back swung out cuz it was icey, just like tray drifting |
Posted by: bunta_boi Dec 16 2002, 04:00 PM |
wut difference does it make really? the back was swinging out, the wheels were pointed in the direction of the drift....wut if an FR were to drive on ice and drift...would u still say that it is ass dragging? juss because it was on ice... |

you don't seem to understand, in an FF, all your doing is pulling the rear, and in a slide you are dragging it. But with an FR, the rear is pushing, so your not draging it. capice? |

what jayson said "cat feesh" |
Posted by: Chamber Dec 16 2002, 05:35 PM |
ass dragging is called ass dragging because you're DRAGGING YOUR ASS. as nice as the slide is, you're still dragging your ass. |

exactly ...you cant drift whit an FF ...and less when its auto ! if you guys still dont understand why FF cant drift ...read this : Basically the laws of physics won't allow it. See with a rear wheel drive car power is coming from the back so that basically means that you can slide the tail out and control the movement by countering with the front wheels. With a front wheel drive both the power and countering wheels are up front so it eliminates the possibilty of drifting grouped turns. A demonstration would be taking a rwd car and finding an open parking lot. Get up to a good speed and then just yank the steering wheel back and forth and you will start fishtailing. This can not be done with a ff and and drifitng is almost like fishtailing around turns. Of course this doesn't mean that you can't take your ff and throw it around turns because you can. Dave of Slide Squad does it pretty successfully with his Civic but the fact of the matter is that it's not drifting. A term that has become pretty popularized from the Velocity BBS is ass dragging. http://velocity.isfaster.com/drift/drift.htm <"inside drifting"... i didnt wrote this ...i was just tired ... |

i thought we burried this "FF drift thing" already, y do people keep bringing it up |
Posted by: ]{aya Dec 16 2002, 06:04 PM |
I'm as tired as you are karasac...but they just won't understand the diff between a controlled, technical, skid and a power slide |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 16 2002, 10:39 PM |
every time some one says an FF can drift you make Jayson cry.... *tear* |
Posted by: bunta_boi Dec 17 2002, 03:52 PM
so a drift should be called 'ass pushing'? |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 17 2002, 03:56 PM |
Sure, we can call it ass pushing since that is what a drift is doing. But I prefer drift, it's shorter |
Posted by: bunta_boi Dec 17 2002, 04:01 PM |
sure lets all call it ass pushing....that way we can identify all the 'noobs'...lol......NOT!!!!!!! |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 17 2002, 04:03 PM |
you were the N00B who suggested it |
Posted by: bunta_boi Dec 17 2002, 07:27 PM |

Perry should censor everything to do with FF's can't drift so we can finally stop this I mean who cares this is so off topic. Whole point is Bunta_boi did something cool. |
Posted by: tainted Dec 18 2002, 07:17 PM |
why would you want to stop sharing of opinions... ideas, facts and whatnot... others learn this way... take me for example... i'm trying to learn the facts on drifting and what makes ff's not drift... these things are educational and therefore not be closed... |

hey SupahNewbie, whos the chick in ur avatar? |
Posted by: cheevoon Dec 19 2002, 12:23 AM
yup.. i agree with u.. but I'm pulling myself outta this topic... anyway.. otr than learning.. we might need to Discover n Try it out all by ourselves.. nowadays, I promote Grip Driving rather than to Drift |
Posted by: tainted Dec 19 2002, 08:20 AM
hoping that the person by the avatar is supahnewbie? lol |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 19 2002, 01:59 PM |
Grip is the fastest way to RACE. Drift is just way to show off car control. |

Posted by: Jayson Dec 19 2002, 05:18 PM |
well, it's true........ |
Posted by: tainted Dec 19 2002, 09:36 PM |
it's not exactly slower... well perhaps it is if you do it everywhere... but there are certain turns drifting is recomended for a faster turn... aren't there? |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 19 2002, 10:03 PM |
I've seen a few JGTC races, and I have never seen a single drift. That maybe more for street races, but in the pros, I doubt you'll ever see a drift on purpose. The idea behind drifting is being able to control your car at will, so in a race you have complete control no matter what the situation is. You won't be surprised and be caught off guard if the car starts to skate a bit, you'll know how to correct it, and continue like nothing happend. |
Posted by: SupahNewbie Dec 19 2002, 11:14 PM |
That's for me to know and you to wonder about. That's not what I meant tainted anyone can share opinions, but we shouldn't be saying FF's can't drift since it doesn't lead to anything. I mean saying how FF is DIFFERENT from FR is completely non-offensive yet when some people go "FFs can't drift you moron" it just doesn't work . Just think more passively and stick to the topic. If you don't got anything good to say, don't say anything at all. Saying FF's can't drift doesn't "enlighten" anyone cause it's their definition of "drift" that you can never change. Remember peoples, argueing on the internet is like the special olympics, even if you win your still retarded. |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 19 2002, 11:44 PM |
I have a brother who's retarded. I find that pic not to be tastefull in the least bit. I do agree with you none the less. |
Posted by: cheevoon Dec 20 2002, 01:35 AM
sometimes drifitng in a curve could be life-saving especially when u r going into high speed... |
Posted by: cheevoon Dec 20 2002, 01:38 AM
cool.. and thankx babe |
Posted by: Chamber Dec 22 2002, 05:09 PM |
FF's cannot drift because they lack the control a RWD car has when oversteering. |
Posted by: Jayson Dec 22 2002, 06:52 PM
this is very true, but these guys are pros, and they correct it before hand |
