As for the rest of the album, it is a decent mix of rock and SEB. Most of the SEB we have as full tracks so no comment on those, but the rock covers (except Ain't Talkin' Bout Love) are done quite well. Yeah, just the one cover I have a bone to pick with and it is mainly the vocal work. They needed to layer the vocals like the original Van Halen track for it to work. But just plain old Ace Warrior? They got most of the melody and guitar work, but the vocals, UGH! Come on, at least do such a legendary rock radio staple some justice!  The other bone I have to pick is that while the music and pacing of said music is relative and representative to the excitement of a drift event, I think they should have included some more crowd cheering, tire squealing, engine revving, turbo/supercharger noises, and the like to bring that insanity home into this drift nut's eardrums. Just like they have on the JGTC/SuperGT and Initial D megamixes. That would have been sweet.  Other than those two things, the album is decent and does a drift event justice with the energy present within the music. And I love that last track... I wonder if it is a cover too? |
