I hope they don't cancel it, because a cockpit view, for me, is very important in a racing game and it was one of those key elements that was lacking in the GT series along with damage models. Video article The video is in French, but if you understand it, they clearly mention it when showing the model of the 300SL interior. This post has been edited by Max911 on May 21 2007, 01:09 PM |

PGR has had cockpit views for years. even the old Driving Emotion-S driving game on ps2 had cockpit views; not to mention battle gear and who knows how many others. its a neat addative feature, but in the end, it ends up being more of a distraction than a help. |

But, it's about time a Gran Turismo had cockpit views for once. And I hope they don't cancel it at the last minute like they dod to the online mode in GT4. |

Was in one of the screenshots for GTHD, which I always thought was just a prototype for GT5. They had a Ferrari cockpit view. I showed Dori and stuff a while back. One sec, I'll grab the screenie again. Yeah, here it is. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/8182/p45auc6.jpg This post has been edited by Nomake Wan on May 22 2007, 03:18 PM |

Odd, though; when I put the link into my browser the photo came right up. Strange that it would appear as a hotlink image for you guys. |

Just curious, will GT5 have HDR? Cuz the PS3's video card can definitely support it, but will PD take the time to make it. I've been playing TDU with HDR for the past few days, the color is just so much nicer, espcially when you take a photo. |

Maybe they did put a screenie of a 599 interior, but they never said you could drive at that view. Could have just been some replay view. Plus, it was the only interior view, they never posted a gameplay video with the driver driving from the inside of the car. BTW, this'll totally kick Forza 2 and PGR4's asses! | ||

I think that the photo mode will be one way to keep me entertained with this game for months.. |

Kinda weird that it took them 5 iterations to implement it though when almost all other games already had that before. Anyways, it's a good gimmick but I'm still waiting for a damage model, better and interactive AI, and a cure to GT4's awful tires. They almost got it with GT3 but suddenly went too overboard in GT4. Oh and if it's not too much to ask, I wished they'd also add things like signal flags(no overtaking during yellow flag!! XD) and interactive pit-stops(you screw up and you get penalized with a longer pit-stop) during races just to make things abit more entertaining. Pro races in GT4 were too simplified for my taste. If it is true, their will be no damage, but damage may apply in near future for download updates. |

Interior cockpit veiws are and always will be gimmicky to me. Yes, NFS High Stakes was incredibly fun in a Z28 being chased by Vette coppers, but where's the point? Unless the game forced you to play in that view the whole time, I don't like it. Hey! If it is the real driving simulator, it should force you ot play in cockpit view!! Because who flys behind their car when driving? This post has been edited by DAKMOR on Jul 12 2007, 07:48 PM |

download update, huh? Well that's only 'good news' to me if Sony will include the Philippines in their online network.
Though I agree with you there, I think that player view is a too small thing to focus on. I'd worry more about Physics, Racing rules and regulations, and Racing environment interactions (a.k.a. your team) to improve Gran Turismo as a Simulator. Now I'm fully aware that PD has already let themselves off the hook on the "racing" aspect by regarding GT as a 'DRIVING' simulator and not a 'RACING' simulator but, heck, if they want to include the 'racing' part of driving a car then they might as well do it right.
