I have a stock FC3S and I was able to beat 2 friends, one of which is on this forum while he had his FC3S at 300k+ Tune points and my other friend with a Spirit R with 200k+ tune points.

When it comes down to it, course advantage and tune advantage can sometimes be outweighed by experience. An experienced player can make any car work well. It takes time and effort to get use to your car and understand what the best lines, and techniques are for most cars.

I must also include that the FC3S is also not an "off the shelf" "ready to race" car without some experience.

FC is excellent on Akagi and good overall in Ver. 2, it's just you. Pick a car that you genuinely like and can see yourself driving, and stick with it. Story mode isn't that hard in Ver. 2, you can beat it with any car.

guys ive got a problem with my FC that i dont understand. actually it may be related to concept of the way the game is played. i vs my friend who drives a FD and i drive the FC, after first hairpin on akina he ALWAYS overtakes!

thing is, he just SMASHES into the wall, and i dont cuz i brake.

so my question is, does entering a hairpin at HIGHER speeds smashing into the wall, do better than keeping off the walls and braking?

i always catch up boost on OR off but problem is, he just blocks.

HELP PLEASE

its because FD's have very little wall penatly on akagi on V2 because it is the course car, so they can pretty much smash into the wall and keep going, but you and your freind may not realise it but he is occuring engine lag, his FD wouldnt be accelerating as fast as usual because he hit the wall, probably why you seem to catch up so easily
just time attack akagi dh alot until you do first corner as fast as possible without hitting the wall

allright sorry bout that, i misread alot of things
considering the slight wall penalty in V2, he should still lose speed and acceleration, your best bet is try getting that first corner done as fast as possible, exit speeds around 135-140
feint drift and 5 in 4 out will help you alot with that
otherwise just take a cleaner line than him keep off walls and try to overtake on corners, use the gutters if you know how and your freind doesnt
and if his still infront just leave boost on

ehhh not always.
basically, just practice on LoTS or do some major TA-ing to get better.

i find that observing other drivers makes a big difference. so stick around your arcade a little bit to see what the other people do and what you're not.

thanks for the tips guys, i kind of realised my exit speed for the first hairpin (akina) was round 120 or less, how do u guys tackle that turn?

i cant really erase yet but i might give it a try later on in the week. 135-140 is seriously sounding really absurd, although yes ive seen people do it. how do you do it?

what i did, i didnt feint that time, i stuck to the outsidewall, brake hard before the turn, gas at apex.

basic maneuvres that ive always stuck to.

does feinting really make you dat much faster, erasing as well? perhaps wheel jerking like from the 'proper turning' tutorial?

eraser isnt really essential in version 2, when i take the first corner i feint 5 in 4 out, come out around the speeds i said before
unless im in my capp, then its just downshift brake and come out at like 150
ill give akina a go with my freind fc3s and see what speeds i get coming out of the first corner, even tho it is only BT

yer, my fc's only BT as well, does that overall affect its performance? 130,000 i think. option C.

btw.......is dis version 2 forum? crap i posted wrong section, im talking about version 3, my mistake tongue.gif

i also wanna ask, how do u 5 in 4 out..... when ur alrdy on 5???
unless u just mean gear down to 4. because i thouht 5i4o was meant to be PREMATURELY shifting to 5.

ps, thanks w7f, im looking forward to your next post.

yeah this is v2 forums, hence the insane speeds
um 5 in 4 out, you basically go around the corner normally but in 5th then at the part of the corner were u accelerate you shift down to 4th
and i got no idea bout decent exit speeds for first turn of akina on v3, i drive a evo 4 and it doesnt work too well there

hm i dont know if i should continue posting stuff here since its the wrong section, but since its been consistent, i think i might post just a couple more.

i seriously dont understand how people can get 130+km's for the first hairpin of akina. they use tst however, but im assuming it only gives u a 3 - 4 max advantage in exit speeds. i use brake and the fastest i get is 110 - 120km, however my car is also only at BT does that effect it?
ok here is what im doing, before the turn, feint out, come back in, braking when im coming back in of course, gas at apex and clear the turn clean. i only get 110km! 130km seems really ridiculous 2 me.

also, does aerodynamic parts actaully make ur car run smoother/faster or is it just for the looks?
