upgraded my cpu, psu, and added 1g of ram. copmputer powers on but no beeps, no screen , and i get a solid amber and green light. put back in the old cpu and took out the ram and same problem. Using an old biostar ta770 A2+ mobo.

new parts:
AMD phenom 2 x6 1090T
antec 520w HC

old parts:
AMD athalon 2.4ghz dual core +4400
antec 500w basiq

i upgraded the PSU because i was having random shutdowns b4. Sometimes after i would reboot after a random shutdown, my mobo would restore to defaults and say something about resetting the cmos.

Get a piece of board or cardboard and place the motherboard on top of it. This ensures you're not grounding on anything.

Take out your PSU and connect to the motherboard.

Power on by using a wire/screwdriver to short the power pins on the board.

Check if you get video/beeps.

Post your results and let us know. This is one of your first troubleshooting steps to make sure that you're not grounding on anything, and that you're not having a power issue where there's too much load.

If you need to attach your graph card then do so - too lazy to look up the board model ATM. Check back on it tomorrow.

1090t is an AM3 proc, which is a no-go on that board to begin with. Just throw a new board in since you need one anyway and see what happens.
