Have you asked any of the old guard why we don't carry out member terminations in the god, old-fashioned 'mod justice' manner?

Because what you call "mod justice", we see as "fascist abuse of power" in the shitstorm of PMs received.

I know it contradicts my previous post, but I do have to ask, why did you not take that incident seriously?

Simple. I had it up to here with the self-loathing antics of certain members. So at that point I realized an important life lesson--their depression is not worth my stress. Wanna off yourself? Sweet! Score one for Darwin! I'm not going to let myself get worked up about it because it's not worth it.

Sorry if you disagree or you think I'm a heartless bastard now but that's just how it is. I refuse to let someone else's self-destructiveness get me down. It just ended up being even more hilarious because it ended up being a scam and I came out sitting pretty.

Not sure what point AJ's trying to make though. Needs more details!

I still have my PW:AA sig somewhere. tongue.gif

See, I see it the same way. I mean after all, it's their funeral. laugh.gif

The truth is we haven't had any real legitimate users being banned for the last three years or something. I am sure we'll strip the avatar and signature whenever someone other than spambots gets banned.

Actually, we did have a big group of banned members, but then Kamui went and did a full sweep and unbanned everybody.

...and rightfully so if you ask me...

Thankfully no one did. I shouldn't have to even bother using the search function to pull up the bullshit that got him banned again completely legitimately after Perry bent his own rules by unbanning him. He took the courtesy Perry showed him and completely squandered it, resulting in a final ban.

That Kamui just went and unbanned everyone because he felt like it goes to show why he, too, never deserved the badge. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

No, he is not. Kamui was an administrator a few years ago that essentially replaced Möbius after he stepped down. His tenure lasted maybe a few months before Perry apparently got fed up with the resulting drama and dropped him.

Pretty much everybody was involved in some way, and it got nasty. Kamui is still around, although he doesn't frequent the boards much anymore.

I think anybody that's banned should stay banned.

That is, unless they're willing to accept the humility, admit that they were foolish, and ask an admin for another chance. This means they're taking the correct step to be accepted into the community again.

A lot of the folks that get banned are not willing to own up to that mistake and refuse to take the proper route to come back. They either make a dupe and get banned again, or disappear completely.

Also note that spambots are not outright banned. Rather, they're given an instant 33% warn and post ability revocation. This effectively bans them, but they are not listed as being banned. They could still PM members, but none of them seem to be "smart" enough to do such a thing.

I was under the impression that that went without saying. Nobody who exists for the sole purpose of causing greif should be given a second chance so easily.

And yet you thought it was a good idea to unban Jayson for a second time. It boggles the mind.

That was certainly the case with a number of members I remember. Hellbent comes to mind and he ended up getting banned twice after his initial ban was appealed. From what I remember, it was just him not being able to keep himself from lashing out at other members.

Because you contributed a lot to the forums, in more ways than one. wink2.gif
