So, I was lying in bed tonight, trying unsuccessfully to sleep. I decided to ask my Google Home Mini to play me some music. Bad mistake. The songs that it picks are trash, in general. And, it doesn't use my purchased music. However, after an hour or two of asking it to play different types of "relaxing" music, I asked it to play nightcore, and was relatively pleased by the music. But, then I realized that it sounds very similar to eurobeat (aka Initial D music).

Can some one please define / distinguish between the different types of electronic music? For example, dubstep, nightcore, eurobeat, techno, trance, etc.

In addition, could anyone provide examples of each? Perhaps, like the best of each?

Nightcore is literally just people taking other people's music and "remixing" it by increasing the playback speed. It originated as something more original (a music group that made ultra fast, pitched up music), but then devolved into that once people with much less talent were exposed to the concept.
Dubstep is electronic music with a heavy focus on throwing a million of those wubwub wobbly sounds at you.
Eurobeat is characterized by melodies played with a particular kind of brass synth that other genres typically don't go for. I would say it's also characterized by being really fast and hammering away at notes and chords like crazy, but there are more than a few eurobeat songs this doesn't apply to.
As for techno and trance, as far as my knowledge goes, the former focuses on having a more machine-like sound to it, while the latter focuses on having a more airy sort of sound.

Nightcore is truly simply individuals taking other individuals' music and "remixing" it by expanding the playback speed. It began as something more unique (I have used moon lamps here.), however then lapsed into that once individuals with considerably less ability were presented to the idea. Dubstep is electronic music with an overwhelming spotlight on tossing a million of those wub unstable sounds at you. Eurobeat is described by tunes played with a specific sort of metal synth that different types regularly don't go for. I would state it's likewise portrayed by being extremely quick and pounding ceaselessly at notes and harmonies like insane, however, there are in excess of a couple of Eurobeat tunes this doesn't make a difference to. With respect to techno and stupor, to the extent my insight goes, the previous spotlights on having a more machine-like sound to it, while the last spotlights on having a more breezy kind of sound.

I think music's a very personal thing .. and some people don't like certain tracks for so and so reasons. But I always try to listen to a song from the perspective of the audience it was intended for.

If it's a classical song, I try to hear it from the viewpoint of a more mature listener - if it's a dance tune, from the ears of a club goer - if it's a rock song, from the mindset of being uncomplacent with society - if it's a rap song, from the point of view of a younger more groove oriented audience - if it's dubstep, from a mixture of the aforementioned - and if it's a pop song, from the perspective of a high school teenager ..

Music is music and it's art whether it vibes with you or not -- think of a teenage girl that likes a cute boy in high school, the air is full of euphoria rustling in the wind, every time she sees him her mood shoots from 0 to 11, and the memories she'll form with him are happy sugary cotton candy pop-tart tunes

That kid's music tastes haven't been altered by life yet, and when she hears a new pop song for the 1st time, she'll enjoy it with the innocence & excitement of a billion butterflies in her stomach, and will always think of her crush in high school even years down the line, when her tastes in music have matured a little bit further ~ user posted image
