How come he gets to put in his 2 cents, but calls mine "crap" , then "tantrum and instamove"?

And why is he moderating the Auto section?

Not too sure. I figured with Perry having stepped in the couple hours I was out things were left ok/acceptable.

Kamui's reason for modding him was needing a mod for the community and off topic sections.

Not Auto, which are well taken care of by Sideways.

Technically, there are no Section-based moderators anymore save for the AS Mod Team (do they still exist? I haven't gone into AS in forever). There's Primary and Secondary. What sections they have permission to moderate is listed on each forum, as Alex noted.

It's been that way for a long time, certainly since you were on the team, and shortly after I left. Why are you only now having a beef with it?

Perhaps this is less "complaining about the system" and more a grudge against the staff? ermm2.gif

I know why it's in quotation marks, don't patronize or belittle me to dodge my point. You are well aware that I was not referring to your personal beef comments, but was rather addressing the latter illogical question of "Why is he moderating Automotive?" He's moderating it because he can. It's within his job description. The forum says so. If they didn't want Secondary Moderators moderating Automotive, they'd remove it.

I ask again: why are you only now having a problem with this setup when it has been this way for years, in fact since you have been on the team?

Because I myself have left Auto alone when I was not a SEC mod, not a PRI mod, but an Admin, in recognition of the fact that Sideways runs it.

Sideways did run it when he was a Sec mod, yes. But now he is a Pri mod with more responsibilities and a larger area to moderate.

If there is nobody else online that can take care of a report, and they have the permissions available to act on that report, they should act. There is no reason why a Sec mod can't go out of their "designated" area to take care of an issue, just like cops are able to move out of their jurisdiction on occasion to do their duties.

The sections are split on permissions because of traffic flow. The sections with permissions for Pri and Sec are high traffic, which allows all aspects of the team to act on reports that will naturally occur more often in them. The Pri-only sections have lower traffic and don't need the extra coverage. Everything is as it is for a reason.

Look at the last 3 posts.

The last report on the thread was made way before his second to last post in the thread.

He decided to go back and move it the next day, not "right then".

The problem is that there was no new reports made between the time that you decided to "tantrum and instamove", and your previous post in the thread.

It wasn't a question of "no one else being available to take care of a report". There was no report.

Last report on thread was Aug. 31st 2010 @ 5:30am
Your next to last post in the thread to make sure you got your 2 cents in was Aug 31st 2010 @ 11:17pm
Your last post when you moved it was an entire 12 hours later, Sep 1st 2010 @ 11:17am

I still run it tongue.gif I think the point hes making is that to many (Myself included), auto still is "my" section, it always has been (even when we were made sec mods, and even now that im a global mod) and in many ways I think it always will be as long as im around. Auto has its own atmosphere and for the most part could probably function on its own. I have many of these guys on my aim list, I dont always yell at people on the forum because I do it over aim. More auto problems get "reported" to me over aim than via the forum for this reason alone.

The last report was at 8:22am and that was the one that was acted upon.

The move of the thread was because it went completely off topic. It didn't have to be immediately after a warn.

I am just pointing out the fact that the thread was split and moved, right after my post.

The times were posted were to counter this argument here :

The last report was made at 5:30am EST, on the previous day. That's a fact.
