FUNimation posted a poll recently about what anime we would like to see released from them, and lo and behold there is an option for A REDUB OF INITIAL D. As in, no crappy nicknames or rap music. Here's the poll.

I made quite a long comment in the poll about how it would be financially beneficial for them to put the studio time into remaking Initial D. As they said "all of Initial D", I suspect this means they are possibly soaking up the rights to Third and Fourth stages.

I love FUNimation. smile.gif

Yep. FUNi's an awesome company.

I voted for a redubbed Initial D too, and it'd be awesome if all these votes did result in one. Then I could probably watch a version of First Stage on Animax that doesn't have subpar voice acting, and a version of Second Stage where some of the Japanese names aren't pronounced like "Key-oh-itchy" or "Ree-Oh-Soo-Keh" (aside from that, the Animax English dub of Second Stage is actually good). Not to mention: I could actually get to watch Third Stage and Fourth Stage on TV as well, in English.

Just to be clear, the Animax release was JUST Filipino right?
I never looked too much into it. unsure.gif

I tried to look for a link, and didn't find much besides this and this.

Since both pages are from Animax India, you can be sure they're not talking about the Filipino dub.

Just got my vote in. I had to go with the option of a redub of Sailor Moon, too. laugh.gif Cars, and chicks in sailor fuku! But seriously, if it hadn't been for Sailor Moon, I wouldn't know what anime is, seeing as it was the very first series I ever saw. And then came Initial D...

I heard the Sailor Moon option was added in just for the hell of it, Funi said they'd love to get it but they don't have plans to get it. But I think they're gonna get Initial D.

They already have distribution rights to Initial D as-is. A re-dub and release of Third, Fourth and both Battle Stages would be freaking amazing.

Voted for Initial D

Additionally, it would be nice if they released the series in sets instead of trying to rip us off disc by disc.

FUNimation tends to release series in half season sets. So chances are if they do get a hold of ID it will probably be done this way (with a boxset coming later)
