Is the angle of drifting larger better? Because I watched some TA videos in YouTube and most of the drift angle they done are not very big...

And does it have a difference between 4WD's, MR's, FR's and FF's drifting?

If I am not wrong, try not to slide to the outside lane just stick to the inside lane can someone correct me if I am wrong?

I think FR are the easiest to drift followed by MR, 4WD and FF.

well if drifting...try sticking into the inside just like *VIC* said.....use the slingshot drift which you swing your car out and decrease little speed....with S2000, FR car...i find it fun to drift...and still trying to perfectly drift my GTR-34....hope you will get better... happy.gif

Thanks for the tips, but what I mean is the drift angle, not the line.

I can make drifts easily, but the problem is my countersteer, it's not that perfect. My drift angle is kinda big, so I need more time to countersteer it. That's why I ask is the bigger the drift angle increases or decreases your time? So that I can practice on my drifts efficiently...

Even if the drift angle is big, it should be fine if you're at the appropriate speed when drifting. If the drift angle is quite small, counter steer before reaching the end of the corner. If it's a bit too big (like really facing to the inside) counter steer immediately when it faces the inside.

One more thing, try not to steer the wheel too much ( much like wheel lock ) when counter steering because you'll get this really awkward feeling when you get back to the road which i can't really explain in words though. laugh.gif

Feel free to raise any objections. smile.gif

By the way, if you feel your steering is heavy right after a drift............is that bad? (like boost sucking bad? maybe unsure.gif )

THANKS! =D

Is the wheel lock thing makes your car "wobble" after you countersteer too much and need some time to recover? Then I know what is wheel lock...

To SonicSP: I don't have that kind of problem after a drift... But if your steering become harder, then yes, it's a bad thing.

Yep it is. Seems that you got it. Weird feeling, isn't it? grin2.gif

It's like the steering wheel loses it's grip and you'll have to steer to the left or right a bit more to make the car stable.

Ya ya ya! Sometimes I get this after a drift and I need to take some time to recover. Oh man, I need to take the best line and drift in every corner and recover without a flaw to make the best time in every course... Looks like I might be drifting in IDAS5 for awhile rolleyes.gif

That's nice to hear, Rensuke. I think it's best to practice drift for now in V5, cuz once the V6 hits Malaysia next year, it may really come in handy since drifting may be more crucial after all on the next game. fear2.gif

Yeah, that's why I started using drifts than grips, because you need to use drift in IDAS6AA and it decrease your time too...

Wow, all Malaysians here. laugh.gif

@Lance Good luck practicing drift! FRs may be the easiest, but considering the strength that comes from the rear tires when drifting, i think it may be also the easiest the under steer crazily too. It's also fun to do donuts if you wanna mess around. grin2.gif

@Icey Your avatar's face kinda looks like my D4 avatar, without glasses. grin2.gif

It seems i need a little help in drifting as well so i'll make use of this thread. happy.gif
Well, i was wondering how to drift in a Cappuccino without total under steering. Due to the light weight, it's hard for me to time my counter steer compared to driving any other FRs.
Any drivers of that little guy to help me? wink2.gif

Less steering input and step the gas early, to prevent counter steering problems. Especially when the corners are tight.

So it goes like any other FR but everything is done at an earlier rate?
I'm gonna need practice...LOTS of practice... pinch2.gif

Any tips on MR drifting?

In my opinion, it's almost the same as an FR drifting but it's easier to under steer. Therefore, requiring more effort to counter steer. Braking early would be helpful, especially in tight corners.
Any validations to my theory? happy.gif

I heard this many times from players in this forum, FF cars are hard to drift..

I hate to sound critical, but why would you even attempt such a thing?

Removing the grip from an FF car is like removing the cheese from a pizza. FF cars are meant to emphasize grip and minimize over-steer to take tighter driving lines.
